    my idea for a quadrilogy

This one would spoof childrens literature

The wraparound story will have Bart being sent to the house of Martin Prince because Homer and Marge think if Bart befriends Martin more often, it will improve his school performance.

Due to Bart's boredom, Martin Prince decides to tell some stories to Bart and Bart imagines himself and other Simpsons characters in the roles of these four stories:

Story #1 is a spoof of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are in which Bart plays the role of Max and the Space Mutants play the role of the Monsters.

Story #2 is a spoof of Dr Seuss's The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins where Bart plays the role of Bartholomew Cubbins and Mr Burns plays King Derwin.

Story #3 is a spoof of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach in which Bart plays James Henry Trotter and Patty and Selma play Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker.

Story #4 is a spoof of S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders in which Bart plays the role of greaser Ponyboy Curtis plus Nelson, Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney also play greasers. While the Soc's are played by Milhouse, Martin and Database.

One thing that will also take place in the episode is that Lisa makes no appearance or is even mentioned.

Are these good stories to spoof or do you have better suggestions?

I'm not familiar with some of the stories, but they sound interesting. Overall, I like the sound of this episode.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

    Everything happens for a reason.

Just be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Don't worry about the world ending today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

The fact that you can't respect Lisa's absense by besieging it with grammatical errors, suggests to me that this whole quadrilogy will be a most terrible idea, indeed.

I don't mean to sound rude, but what grammatical errors are you talking about? I don't see any.

    No you're not being rude.

Firstly, one thing that will take place in the episode will be that Lisa will make no appearance - that isn't something that will take place, that would be something that doesn't take place. Furthermore, mentioning Lisa's non-involvement in the quadrilogy was stupid, because biff might as well have said that:

"one thing that will take place in the episode will be that Maggie will make no appearance"

Secondly: "is that Lisa makes no appearance" read that throughly and tell me you don't think that is a grammatical error.

The correction should be "is that Lisa does not appear or is even mentioned"

    OK

I see what you're talking about. Thanks for pointing them out.

Still, despite these errors, I think that everything he said about this episode sounds good.

Yeah I liked the James and the Giant Peach one, but it was just quite insensitive to exclude Lisa from his quadrilogy idea. At east, if he didn't want to use Lisa, he should have at least had just not drawn attention to it, acting like she doesn't deserve to be in his idea.

I can see where you're coming from, but I don't mind. It reminds me of Bart not being in Four Great Women and a Manicure.

But they didn't fully-on point out his absense.

I didn't mind Bart's absense in that episode, it kind of seemed appropiate, because it was a feminist episode.

True, but if she doesn't need to be in this episode, I don't mind that she isn't, even if it's pointed out.

Wow... grammar 101 AND Lisa debating. This board's deep.

Anyways, some of your stories sound good, the Outsiders one is my favorite.

Yes, I intended the lack of Lisa Simpson and no mention of her to be a type of callback to Four Great Women and a Manicure.

    Ok. Thanks for the explanation.

Spoof number 1 has been dabbed in a little already. In the 17th season there was an episode called "The Girl Who Slept Too Little". Watch that, if you haven't... it parodies "Where the Wild Things Are".

Could be... Bart screws up a test, by getting kicked out of class. Getting kicked out of class because of a prank... that he pulled on Martin. His punishment is to spend a week with Martin, at his house, in order to get to understand him better?

    Viva la Christmas in Canaan.

"My Idea for a Quadrilogy" is probably stretching it, seeing as you just took a bunch of stories and said "I'm going to replace some characters with Simpsons characters."

    Not Thread-worthy.
"Look, Marge, you don't know what it's like. I'm the one out there every day putting his ass on the line. And i'm not out of order! You're out of order. The whole freaking system is out of order. You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't handle the truth! Because when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo, that was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do! Forget it, Marge. It's Chinatown!" - Homer's rant.

It would be funny if in each of the stories Martin cast himself in the lead and Bart as some other character. Then Bart could steal/twist each story to make it focus on him.

this would work great as a quadrilogy episode as it could not do any of the stories justice, a la 4 Great Women and a Manicure.
