gil was a great character but since the death of lionel, he is overused and ridiculously unfunny
“On my deathbed, my final wish is to have my ex-wives rush to my side so I can use my dying breath to tell them both to go to hell one last time.”

My least favourite is Ralph - We get it he's "special", but why does he have to be in 1/3 of all the episodes.![]()

Opal < Lindsey Naegle < Yes Man < Cat Lady < Cletus < Captain McCallister

I was trying to drop the thing, but if you insist on going with this than fine I'll give some examples pre season 8 episodes. One for example is when Lisa first became vegetarian, she was pretty much forcing her opinion on others. Its fine that she wanted to become one, but did she have to try and get the others to become ones? I have two family members who are vegetarians, they don't go around forcing there opinions on others. We just try to find places we can all eat at and let them do there thing, they let us do our thing. Now as smart as Lisa is, you'd think she'd have understood too, respected other peoples opinions too. Another example is that one episode where Lisa has a crush on her teacher, her brother runs for school elections. She just looks down on him, thinking she's better than him. Granted both are really good episodes, both are favorites of mine in fact. However it shows Lisas annoying qualitys. A lot of episodes, even classic episodes she thought she was better than Bart and Homer. Heck she thinkss she's better than whole entire class too, example when that new girl came to her school. When Lisa started getting out done, she couldn't hanndle it and tried to hide the girls project so she could be the Queen of her class once again. Ok every episodes of these she learns her lesson, but it prooves what kind of a character she is. Lisas snooty, thinks herself above every one else, trys to force her opinions on every one. The classic episodes she had cons and pros yes, its the later episodes she really becomes a bad egg. There yah go, I gave some good examples why I dislike her character. Like I said though, I respect every one who likes her.

Didn't I name post season 8 episode? That Teachers one came out in season three right? Thanks for respecting my opinion.

Oh darn. MisunderstandingXD
Thanks for explaning that. I can name tons for that. The episode where Lisa gave Bart a restraining order, she said he didn't do one nice thing for her that's not true. Bart has done some nice things for her in the past such as give up his 500 dollars for a record she needed. He didn't have to, but he did. Another I can give is that one where she doesn't belive in Angles, again forcing opinions >>
Than there's season 21 where she's just been mean. I don't think Bart's been as mean as she has been this season, least not to Lisa or Maggie. Like bragging how she has a little sister she can do things with and he doesn't.

No, I said without any references to post season 8. As in, nothing after season 8. If I didn't want anything before season 8, I would have said "without any reference to the classic episodes".
I went through the exact same thing as a kid, I'm smarter than my brother, I have a lot more sense than my father, I outdid every other kid when I was in elementary school, hell, I was in the gifted class, it never lasted, but still, if someone a year younger than me had popped in around that time that did pretty much every single little thing that I've been doing my entire life, only better, I'd have done whatever I could to bring them down, any kid would have done that, and it's not like Alex just popped up and Lisa decided "Oh, I've got to take her down, she's better than me" no, she becomes friends with her, but loses her cool over the episode when she slowly realizes that every little definitive talent that she has is being outshined by a younger kid.
And she learned her lesson at the end of the episode, remember? She's still a kid, y'know. =P
Good, and how hard was that, eh? Now you can say you dislike Lisa without making yourself look like a jackass (i.e. D'ohmer). =P I'm sure you understand, I still had to defend my opinion, but I still respect yours.

Like I said, sure she goes and learns her lessons but it defines who she is deep down. But nice to know I can say how much I dislike Lisa without making myself look like a jackass![]()
I said that I would try to limit my posts like this, but you want me to do this, so here goes.
-I find her annoying at times by trying to act like she's the best.
Ex. (Bart on the Road): "I'm the best student in the school. Why didn't I hear about this?"
-She can be inconsistant. At times, she acts like her usual self, but she sometimes acts like a girl version of Bart. I really hate her in the shorts/early season 1.
Ex.: She's a big fan of Itchy and Scratchy, which I find odd.
-Her morals are too strong.
Ex. (The Old Man and the Lisa): She tears up the check for $120,000,000.
I have morals too, but I would never pass up that much money because of where it came from. It's not like anything bad would come from accepting it, all the bad stuff already happened.
-She tries to force her beliefs on others.
Ex. (Lisa the Vegetarian): She ruins Homer's BBBBQ.
Although, to give the episode credit, she did learn her lesson at the end, which she so did not forget.
-I find her annoying when she is in her overly-happy mood.
Ex. (You Only Move Twice): Forest scenes. I can still hear her saying "you're up kind of early" in my head. Ugh
And I'm sorry if I've been sounding like a jackass, like you said. Like I mentioned above, I've been trying to limit my posts that show my dislike for Lisa, that wis even one of my boardsolutions for 2010.

Maybe because you're not a "Lisa" type of person that doesn't make her character bad. How many times do we have to tell you that?
by: Jacob

About annoyance: she was acting like the best, but she is the best in the school. Other then Martin {and she might be smarter then him} she IS the best, the smartest.
Inconsistent- It's probably something that Bart got her liking, I don't know why it's odd. Because it's about animal violence? It's animated and it makes her laugh, she IS 8.
I'm not going to mention the check thing in case I get in another debate with that with Racist Pumpkin, and I won't mention the vegetarian thing because as you said, she DID learn her lesson.
Overly Happy- What? She's 8, so she's not allowed to be very happy about anything? Sorry but it's like that is what you're saying.
These are just my opinions and thoughts and I am sorry if they are too mean or anything, just trying to make you see my POV of course
You're not sounding mean at all
You can have your point of view.
I just have a different view on her character.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
You could say this about every Simpsons character. Since this is the least favorite character thread, you just name the character you like the least. Every character has a pro or con, including Lisa. She's not a character you can place above every one, you have to include her in the characters too.

There's a difference between a character you don't like because they're designed with a different set of core values and/or ideals for which you disagree with, and a chracacter that was once entertaining and now is a Flanderized version of him/herself. Most of D'ohmer's reason comes from not liking the kind of person Lisa is and he likes the less "Lisa-istic" side she portrays nowadays vs. the deeper character she used to be.

Who is Opal?
Captain McCallister? Cletus? What's wrong with them, they work pretty well when they have short appearances, and I don't see much to hate, esp. with the Captain, he's had some great parts.
And what is the problem people have with Lindsay Naegle? Have I missed an episode where she was ridiculously bitchy? I mean, she's not very likeable, but her appearances are generally just generic lines which could be said by almost anyone else, with some exceptions.

Heh.
Uh, she is the best student in the school. Really, she's the best student in the school, what's wrong with saying that? I'm the best computer guy at my school, and I don't see anything wrong with saying that.
Well what, did you actually expect her to cash the check? "The Rich Simpsons" doesn't exactly sound like an interesting sitcom, imo.
She embarrassed herself in front of a whole bunch of people, then went upstairs only to get scalded by a hamburger. I think she might have earned the right to be pissed off at that point.
Um, she didn't, until after season 8.
She's a bad character because she acts like a little girl, huh?
