Pretty good night for the Simpsons then, probably because Family Guy and Cleveland Show's repeats, meant that some of their fans were desperate for some new animation and despite their feelings towards the shows just watched simpsons and AD anyway.
Happy we're nearing 6 million again, and for the consistant demo.![]()

Nearly the same as last week. The final four I expect to each have less than 6 million.
On May 16th, they will have to compete with Survivor: Heroes vs Villians finale and that can be a problem with ratings.
On May 23rd, they will have to deal with the series finale of Lost or at least a two hour series recap.

why the hell do they air the finales of those shows on Sundays? just to fuck with Fox?

i'm mainly mad at ABC. lost does not belong on a sunday. Survivor, ok, that i can understand, but Lost? seriously?
I agree, Lost is shown on Tuesdays on ABC but I also don't understand switching on Sundays for the last episode.
This is one reason why I think FOX should move The Simpsons to another day of the week after the football playoffs since that is the time the ratings decline but I know by now they won't do that.
American Idol could've easily boosted ratings for The Simpsons but now that Simon Cowell is leaving, that show could possibly suffer next year.

Sunday at 8 is perfect during football season, but after that, the show should be moved either to mondays after House or after AI. but that's never gonna happen.
Even the Brits are jumping off the American Idol bandwagon, that's great. Unfortunately the show airs on Fox so we can expect at least another 6 season of it.
Not to mention that American Idol is still Americas highest rated prime time tv show. Plus the crossover with The Simpsons in the season finale seems like a last ditch attempt to save it.
Next year, I'm sure FOX will air a new Simpsons episode after the Super Bowl. I just hope it isn't Super Bowl themed because it will look like they are desperate.

Which one?
It seems like some kind of suicide pact.
(oh snap!)

The Simpsons, a show with less than 6 million viewers, is supposed to save AI, a show with more than 20 million viewers? explain, please.
