Pokechu, dudes. Eric made sure he won't be coming back.

He kept on posting pics of a certain part of the female anatomy over and over and over.

Terrific episode! Loads of satire, very creative, and well-plotted. B+

To all those gloomy folks on this board, you've got to admit, The Simpsons is so much better today than it was 2-3 years ago.

Er...I wouldn't say it beats out season 10, even though it comes close.

For the most part, season 13 is very similar in style to season 10, and both are way better than cartoonish seasons 11-12. IMO.

Season 10's main problem was that most of its episodes were extremely gimmicky and formulaic. Out of 22 episodes, a good 90% of them put Homer at the center of attention and everyone else in the background; even episodes that had little to do with him (Wild Barts Can't Be Broken). The stories were all the same; Homer got a new job or took on a new scheme, and failed because of his idiocy; and much of the humor consisted of "Look at Homer! Look at what he's doing now! Isn't he funny?". I'm glad the writers eventually got out of that rut.

And don't forget that the focus on Homer made the writers make him more annoying.

I still say that season 10 is better than season 13.

"I'm With Cupid" and "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo" are equal to the best of Season 13. "Lisa Gets an A" comes close. However, the overal quality of the season is lowered by poor episodes such as: Bart, the Mother, Homer Simpson in: "Kidney Trouble," Viva Ned Flanders, Sunday, Cruddy Sunday, Monty Can't Buy Me Love, and They Saved Lisa's Brain. This bring down Season 10's enjoyment level more so than Homer the Moe, The Blunder Years, and The Lastest Gun in the West did for Season 13. In the end, in my opinion, Season 13 reigns victoriously. Plus, there is also promising episodes ahead (Little Girl in the Big Ten) and ofcourse, there are discouraging ones as well (The Frying Game).

Imho, Monty Can't Buy Me Love signaled the beginning of the show's bend onto surrealism. (Also, it probably provoked Saddlesore Galactica to piss off the fans that complained.)

I believe it's when Homer and Marge end up caring for some old woman, who later dies. Homer is accused of murder and faces the electric chair. Carmen Electra is in it for some reason.

When Homer is caught threatening an endangered caterpillar, he is sentenced to community service and must care for an elderly lady. However, when the old lady dies, Homer is surprised to find himself convicted of murder and sentenced to fry in the electric chair.

Homer on death row is not something that I am looking forward to.

And the episode that follows it is Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge, which sounds almost like a deliberate attempt to lose fans.

Cmon people...lets not judge an episode yet...why Poppas Got A Brand New Badge could very well be the funniest episode this season even if it has a recycled plot.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

Okay, so maybe I'm a week late with this review, but I really liked this episode. Perhaps it's because I just needed a laugh to break up the string of dreariness in the world today, but whatever the reason was, it had some great laughs in it.

I also wonder about all the people who say the show is starting to go downhill, and in my mind, I think of it like a sports franchise: some years it's great, some years (rebuilding seasons) they aren't so great. But the fact is, I'm still a fan. Then again, maybe tv shows are more like individual athletes: when they are young (just out of college, or minors or whatever) they impress you in some way, and then as they get older, they mature into a superstar, I continue to be a fan. But at some point, you see them really falling off with age and injuries, etc. but you still root for them for that brilliance you remember from years ago.

I think that's why I still watch the Simpsons, and give the show the benefit of the doubt as far as quality. Sure, the episodes have slipped in the past few years, but I still enjoy the show.

FWIW, I know the sports analogy has some holes in it, but I do hope you get the general gist of what I wanted to say. Eh, sorry for making the post this long, I just haven't posted in quite some time.
Of all the goals I have in life, the only one out of reach is to be immortalized on the Simpsons.

Have you stopped to think that your blind loyalty only contributes (in some small way) to the demise of the show? I'm guessing a huge portion of the constant viewers share the same opinion, and it doesn't help the quality, if we tune in no matter how bad the episode is.

I, for one, am tired of being one of the sheep, partly because I do not enjoy the show anymore. I'm not going to be part of the group that allows the writers to kick back and slack off, secure in the knowledge that no matter how much mud they drag the show through, they'll get high ratings.

I refuse to partake in rewarding the undeserving effort that the creators put into the show, when I know that writers on other shows who work 4 times as hard do not get as much notice.

Trust me, if the amount of viewers dropped by half, the episodes would get better.

I know, deep down, that they can do better. In fact, some of us can do better.

Whoa, hey, slow down there Tex...I wasn't showing "blind loyalty" to the show inasmuch as I am not "one of the sheep" who you blame (in some small part) for the demise of the show. Don't blame me or other "sheep"-like viewers for the show's drop in quality. You blame the writing, and rightly so - I'm not cutting the writers slack as far as what is being put out there - just that this particular episode was good. I enjoyed it. That's my opinion - just as you have yours.

Your message indicates to me a sort of bitterness because you think the show is complete trash. Add to that your comments about writers on other shows working hard and not getting recognition, and I infer that there are other shows out there not doing as well ratings wise that you happen to enjoy. But that's your opinion. You can be bitter if you wish, but don't come down on me for having an opinion, and then bashing me for my opinion. I've seen that happen on far too many boards, and that turns people off very quickly.

Oh, and if the show's ratings dropped in half, IMO we wouldn't get a chance to see if the show would get better, that might be the last step before FOX drops the show. But with FOX being FOX, they may re-up just to have something fill the timeslot. I'm sure if the show were cancelled, you wouldn't have any problems at all.
