Same here. Donovan is one of my all-time favorite bands. Hearing 'Mellow Yellow' tonight and 'Wear Your Love Like Heaven' on Weekend at Burnsies was excellent. Maybe next week, they'll play 'Season of the Witch' -- the best Donovan song in my opinion.

Excellent episode! This episode was quite funny. But ill agree with Tomacco, the episode didnt have me laughing out loud but mostly chuckles. The "You suck, Angry Dad" thing was the highlight. Homer as the hulk and Stan Lee were both hilarious. Great Stuff!

    OVERALL GRADE: 9.0/10

and did anyone catch Malcolm In The Middle? they did a clip show...hahah

Can someone post a framegrab of Homer as the Hulk posing (either after he breaks through the fence, rises from the pool, or about to be tackled by the cops)? That's the only one left I need for my guide double-page.

Here's one no one mentioned yet:

Homer was watching a show called "When Dinosaurs Get Drunk" that featured a Stegosaurus falling into a tar pit.
Homer chuckles: "Oh, I've been there man!"
*** Thinking back, Homer really did fall in a tar pit in "Bart Gets an Elephant" and then Stampy saves Homer (as well as Barney Gumble) from the tar pit.***
I'm not sure if that's what the writers had in mind for the joke though...but it works well either way.

Also the rest of that scene was LOL "It has been cancelled and replaced by the Boring world of Neils Bohr." Then Homer gets mad and squeezes an Ice Cream Sandwich at the TV instead of a Remote and then SLH runs in to lick it off the screen! Haha! Classic moment!

Ah, I can only assume it sucked. My guess is the show will only go further down hill from here.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

Yeah. What a great show. This episode, in my opinion, will go down as a Simpsons classic.

Hopefully this will also motion in the return of the classic Simpsons (not that it has been bad recently, just not up to standard).

And hell, put him through a blender, terrorism, violence and pointless lost lives will still be around. I don't want to get into this, but those cartoons are neither funny nor have a helpful purpose. If anything they trivialize and mainstreams the deaths of thousands of innocent people.

I didn't like this episode a whole lot i never really laughed that much and was getting kinda bored with it at times...Stan lee was great in it though and so was homer as hulk so i guess overall i'll give it a 3/5.

Tomacco, I read your review, and it's nice and all, but you got one thing wrong. Lisa was refering to her possible *character* in "Angry Dad" having the last line in some scenes. She wasn't refering to "The Simpsons".

I'm glad that most of you liked this episode, but I still feel it was less than stellar. It was a good night of "The Simpsons" episodes, though. First "Lastest Gun..." (4/5) and "I am Furious Yellow" (3/5).

Also, if these episodes were all finished before the season started then how could they have an Osama Bin Laden joke. I know that he still existed before Sept. 11 but there probably werent internet cartoons of him before.

Anyway, it was a very good episode. I never really laughed out loud in it though. Just chuckles. It was a very good episode and didn't have a stupid ending. One of the best of the season IMO. 4/5.

    Here, go nuts:

500 episodes, about 200 good ones.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
The episode "Whacking Day'' curiously aired the same day as Seinfeld's "The Contest'', which deals with a different kind of whacking.

    Thanks for the grabs, Matty!

IT IS "I am Furious (Yellow)" by the way! Al Jean just assured me of that after the whole mix-up. Sorry for saying otherwise earlier.

More clever than funny, a great departure from the rest of the season. Not really all that LOL funny though. Maybe I was just in a foul mood. Good times, either way...

I thought this was a great episode. Excellent job of Stan Lee as guest star, and he didn't have one of those flash-in-the-pan spots either, he was actually in the subplot. The return of more minor characters (Database, Mrs. Krabappel, and Kirk Van Houten), and I laughed my ass off at "Angry Dad". Sure there were some obscure parts (that "puke ray" in Danger Dog was gross, especially the two dogs kissing) but it was a very good ep otherwise - and excellent Homer/Hulk transferrence! 4/5.

"I Am Curious (Blue)" is the US title of the 1968 Swedish porn movie "Jag är nyfiken - en film i blått". http://us.imdb.com/Details?0063149

    Thumbs Down Meh.

I agree that some of the jokes were lame in the show... and that is what matter when it comes down to it. Homer may have been a little TOOO stupid if thats possible... The structure of the episode wasnt as good as others. I like an episode where their are so many plot twists I cant remember how you get from the start to the finish! Also Stan lee was in it for too long although it was good when he tried to turn into the hulk..

(ive done it before i swear!)

    CBG (almost had it there...)

And is it me or did Homers voice sound a little different?

    Meh.

I think the best line of the ep was from CBSG:'

"I'm afraid his mind is no longer in mint condition."

Anyways, the episode wasn't too bad plotwise. The jokes seemed stressed (I think Marge would be more worried about the quarters in the ceiling... nevermind), but some bits were funny. I was happy that Homer's transformation made some sense, but Bart seemed to try to hard to be mischevious ("If you love me so much, why don't you marry me..."). As much as I like the X-MEN comics, I didn't care much for the product placement in this episode.

    2.5/5

    Thumbs Up

I really enjoyed I Am Furious Yellow. As usual, Homer cracked me up. I especially loved Homer's response to the radio commercial asking "Don't you hate carpet stores that charge more for the underpadding"? ("I hate them SO MUCH!!!") I also laughed at the punching the cat thing and lines like "I'd addicted to rageahol" and "That looks suspicious...but delicious!". And we found out that Milhouse is not a nerd. "Nerds are smart."

The Hulk thing was great, and I really liked how Stan Lee and the Comic Book Guy played off each other. The only thing I didn't really enjoy is the puke ray thing, but I'd still give the episode a 4/5.

Good episode with hilarious Internet Cartoon stuff. 6th best episode of the season, behind She of Little Faith, Sweets ASM, Half Decent Proposal, Bart Wants WIW, and Weekend at Burnsies.. The "you saved Homer's life" thing could have been left out though. 4/5

It was gross, but I think was a great parody of crappy, gross cartoons Cartoon Network likes to make.

    Probably the most entertaining episode this season. The plot was very original, and there wasn't a terrible scene in the whole 30 minutes. I could go on for hours on the great jokes and satire in this one, but I'll list my favorites;

    • Kirk vanHouten on career day
    • The arch-enemy Groundskeepers
    • The scene of how Bart got his inspiration to create "Angry Dad"
    • Stan Lee trying to fit the Thing into Database's batmobile
    • "But in the bizarro-world, it would mean he likes me!!!"
    • "It's a golden age for the repo business..."

Grade: A, just slighty behind "Half-Decent Proposal"

Note to Tomacco: When you make the guide page, please make it a two pager. And with so many good 1-time characters in this episode, please put either the creator of Danger Dog, Danger Dog himself, the internet animator, or Angry Dad in the sidebar.

    Review from: ya whatever
An ok episode. It was better than most episodes from this season. Grade: D-
He sure must think poorly of this season. It's an "ok episode" he says that is "better than most episodes from this season." Yet, it still manages to get a D-. Meaning that most of the episode from this season received an F from him.

Anyone notice that Ned Flanders was singing a different verse from the "Noah's Ark" song in 9F01, "Homer the Heretic"?

Methinks the web site owner would make the best side-bar character.
