the characters they've been putting on the covers for the past two seasons are less prominent secondary characters, so i don't see them putting a character like apu, moe, or flanders on the next cover, i'm thinking someone like otto or skinner with a school theme, or whatever........

Krusty is just as prominent, as Apu, maybe even more prominent. Moe and Flanders may be seen more, but play just as important of a role as Krusty or Apu do.

Actually Krusty and CBG are in the top few spots of countless "favorite secondary character" lists. Hardly "less prominant". To top that, both characters have either had a large number of starring episodes (Krusty) or are the number one go-to character for side-jokes and meta-references (CBG).

Apu, Moe and Flanders have been the top three side characters to have their own episode almost every season. In fact, all three characters have also undergone the most changes throughout the series: married, children, widower, plastic surgery, questioning religious belief etc.

Apu hasn't really featured in a episode with a proper story of his own, since erm season 13. So this would be the appropiate time to initiate him with him on the boxset cover.

Despite Chief Wiggum getting a bigger role than usual in Pappa's Got a Brand New Badge, I think we can save his boxset cover for season 16, with his other big role in Pranksta Rap.

Glad that they've told you this. Seriously I suspect the secondary characters will be taking up more than 5 seasons, there are too many that need to be done on the box, and the writers know this, because most of everyone's favourite characters are a secondary character.

Besides 1-5: Couch Gags
6-10: OFF Heads
11-15: Secondary Character Heads (ooh these characters are not on the title card of the simpsons, that must mean the dvds have done a change - no people it's just a different kind of character, secondary.)

Even if they don't do this, they're likely to do less known secondary characters to the General Public like Barney or Cletus, to perhaps interest the general consumer as much as the fans.

So what? He was there for all the seasons that matter. He IS without a doubt an important character to the series. He is a classic character of our generation.

I really don't see them changing the box art by season 16. If you think about it, seasons 6-12 have all been featuring one character. Sure, 11 and 12 have more of a plain background, but they still have the one main character. I could see them maybe switching up the background of the box, but I'm pretty sure they'll be staying with the "featured character" on the boxes.

They sure do. I have the heads for S6 - 11 (and I'll get the 12 head, too) but I also like the packaging of the normal versions. I think a Green or Yellow one would work well next with Apu on the front.

I mentioned this but someone made that for a fake season 12 before it was announced. it would look cool for it to be green. Not sure about the character but I really think Green will be next.

I think green would go with a few characters:

Apu
Flanders
Willie
.. .. Even Milhouse I guess - But Purple or Pink would be better for him.

If Moe was on a case I think the background should be brown.
