Was the Australian release date mentioned? Can't remember if it was or not: 22nd September.
Sorry if it's been posted.
"Look, Marge, you don't know what it's like. I'm the one out there every day putting his ass on the line. And i'm not out of order! You're out of order. The whole freaking system is out of order. You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't handle the truth! Because when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo, that was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do! Forget it, Marge. It's Chinatown!" - Homer's rant.
I'm hoping that there'll be some pictures of the set somewhere on the internet tomorrow seeing as how I don't think anyone here is going to Comic-Con....
I'll be going. I'll (probably) have a copy by Saturday.
^ Excellent

Very nice. Can't wait for more pictures later!
OKAY, SEASON 13 IS HERE.
Box/head piece
Back side
So yes it is, obviously, the arcade theme that we were speculating. Each DVD slot is a different character at a game machine.
Panoramic artwork on the other side of the accordion (excuse my choppy editing)
The "pixel Simpsons" you were intrigued about are on the discs.
Also the first couple commentaries are nothing but Mike Scully making fun of Al Jean

I'd say it all looks pretty cool. I love the pixelated discs. Thanks for all the pictures Orange Harrison!
haha they used the sprites from the simpsons arcade game
Can you post the list of who appears on each commentary, please?

Groening's in on quite a few commentaries here. I like it.
Holy Shit, dude! Thanks so much.
They always go all out for the artwork, it looks awesome. Matt Groening's on a bunch of the commentaries too which is cool, though how much more can he contribute? I'm not sure how many commentaries you've listened too but did he say much on any of the ones he participates in?
Cool disc art too.

Thank you so much! Dare I say this is my favorite Simpsons DVD layout in quite some time!
I love the Pixel Simpsons! And Bart's blue shirt (from the original arcade game). I can't wait to pick this up in a month, this was the season where I began watching so re-viewing some of these without commercials, a bad signal, the FOX logo, and with audio commentaries will certainly be a treat! Once again, thank you for the pics!
Very nice designs both on the discs and on the inside box. Still dislike the fact that Ralph is on the cover, but no big deal. After seeing all this, I am definitely looking forward to season thirteen more than I was previously. Thanks for posting those pictures and info!
Very excited now about the commentaries especially since we'll hear Pamela Hayden for the first time and I can't wait for the return of Jon Vitti and WOW, Mike Reiss is back!!I thought he'd swore he wasn't going to do any more commentaries but hey, I'm not complaining!

^
we've got used to it
and accepted that the design will change in season 16, if they're following the 5 season rota of course...
Nah that doesn't really make sense if they've used it for the Season 20 release earlier in the year.
Also, OH, did you happen to see any copies of the blu-ray edition? Is it a proper box or does it just use a horrible cheap plastic cover like S20?

Booklet:
And no, I did not notice any Blu-ray boxes, although they might have just looked the same as the regular box.

Thanks for that wow that is a great booklet

looks like a great package
but is part of the cover of the booklet transparent? the cover looks almost 3d-y
Let us celebrate with the adding of chocolate to milk.
^This.
And I like the pirated/pixelly art.
Man this set is looking amazing! Some of the best and coolest art of any season set so far! I really can't wait to pick this up in a month.
