I don't think the switch to digital animation has anything to do with the picture quality. But i could be wrong.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

Watched "Tennis the Menace" last night and that episode was f-n BRIGHT! Too bright. Marge's dress and the house walls were burning holes in my retinas.
UP AND ATOM!

There's a difference between remastering and reediting. There's nothing wrong with remastering for superior picture and audio quality. Lucas reedited the Star Wars films for his own reasons, most of them due to the need to update visual effects shots, and the changes themselves are debatable and an entirely different issue. You can remaster a film without changing the content.
There were three shows that were colored digitally prior to season 14's animation change: season 7's Radioactive Man, season 12's Tennis the Menace, and season 14's Treehouse of Horror (which was a season 13 holdover). And of course, there was Homer 3D done in season 7.
They used these episodes as testing grounds, seeing if the final result would hold up in comparison to the remainder of the series. At the time (1995), a number of shows were moving to digital animation. Both the Simpsons and King of the Hill held their ground for quite a while. Futurama is a whole different matter. I couldn't see that show not being done digitally.

Netflix streaming to my HDTV via the Xbox 360 has been working great for me, I even get a selection of HDTV shows and movies. If I'm pressed to see major SFX movies like Watchmen or something I just buy them or rent them for $5-$15 over the Xbox marketplace. No need for Blu-Ray yet.![]()
wait, when the world turns against dvd players like vhs and go for Blu Ray
will my dvds still work
or will all my years of collecting be a worthless peice of crap
