Harry resigning is a good question. Technically, he's bound to his contract. And that contract is set to expire at the end of this year. The last contract signed by the voice cast had them set up til the end of season 23. Fox has to make a decision before december, since that's when season 24 is supposed to begin.

I don't see it happening, but Harry has an exit window within these next few months, should he choose to use it.

I do wonder what would happen if they lost Harry, but still had the show going. Wasn't that one of the reasons they brought Karl Wiedergott to the production after Phil Hartman's demise? I recall Al Jean mentioning that Karl sometimes filled for the main voice actors if necessary on a table read or a temp track, in addition to his 'additional characters' voiceover work.

And very recenty (season 22 to be exact), the show started employing a guy called Chris Edgerly to do additional voices. I wonder if they're beginning to cover their bases in case Harry bolts.
