Classic Burnsmithers Episode Tourney Round 1A: "Delilah" vs "Trillions"

"Trillions" is one of the major turning points for Burns' character, in my opinion...his characterization is pretty ridiculous, overly-stupid and -friendly with Homer. "Delilah" is nearly perfect; Burns isn't characterized quite perfectly, but he is still good in it. And Smithers' role and characterization are great.

    Surprising, but "Trillions".

Same here. The Trouble With Trillions is not definitely a bad characterization for Burns, he behaves friendly with Homer (but not always, he firstly tries to hurt him in some hilarious ways), but it's a friendship forced by an extreme situation. Moreover, I didn't find anything too much jerk on his character here.

I also love Burns' characterization in Simpson And Delilah, therefore I chose the best episode in general.

I recently re-watched S9 episode and thought that it was not really bad, but "Simpson and Delilah" still gets my vote

Simpson And Delilah. Though it's not really "Burns-centric".

Believe it or not, it took me a while to realise Karl was gay (even with the kiss.)

    "Simpson and Deliah"
Kids, let me tell you about another so-called ``wicked'' guy. He had long hair and some wild ideas. He didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...
I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. Marge, you know what I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car?

-- Homer's parable of the guy in the blue car, ``Homer the Heretic''

    Ralph: I Won! I Won!
Principal Skinner: No Ralph this means you're failing English
Ralph: Me fail English? That's unpossible.

Trillons had its moments but was mostly dumb. Delilah isn't as great as some say, but a decent episode that is much better than its opponent.

Trillions is very underated although a bit of a weak storyline.

Trouble with Trillions had a good first act but the rest went downhill with a weak and somewhat predictable plot that was lacking in humor. Simpson and Delilah was very funny with a vey intriguing plot and has my vote here.
