Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.
You need to reread my post that you can't help but reference. Nowhere did I say or imply anything near that.
Well, I collected my boxset today, cheap at FYE. Pulled out the first disc and found 2 small, gray, hairs inside.![]()
.
Yeah, I consider it a bad omen.

I'm afraid to take out the other discs.

Uh, do I "deserve' an opportunity to respond? Well, it would be dross for the most part to actually try to point out you are not a malcontent. Besides we wouldn't want the undeserved jackanapes, uh, I mean No Homer's Club members to feel like this has gone on too long. Fox obviously wouldn't waste plastic on properly constructed DVD cases for these nerds, so why should we continue bantering with them, right?![]()

Crusser, you like the current show, that's fine. There's people here, including me, who do. However, you really need to drop the holier-than-thou attitude if you want people to take you seriously.
Also, the packaging may look great, but it doesn't do me much good sitting on a shelf in the back of my closet while the discs are in a separate holder so I don't risk smudging and scratching them every time I take them out

Yep, not here today. Maybe tomorrow. I'm actually anxious to watch some of these episodes again, many of which I have not seen in years...
I hope Crusser doesn't leave, it's good to have someone to balance the opinion a little.
Packaging is fine kids. I likewise have taken my Season 11 discs in and out dozens of times, and loaned them to friends without the need off caveats, and they returned no problem. Most of you seem to be operating on the assumption that they will scratch, not that that have, so you guard against something that wont necessarily happen.
And you can't blame Crusser for questioning your motives as to why you hang on to a show you've hated for ten years, Jake. That is a waste of energy, regardless of whether money changes hands. To do so because you're a simply a completist doesn't really cut it. If you want to talk about loss of dignity, then there's a place to start.
I thought that tv ad was kinda funny when it said prepare for the best season ever, but season 12 was a great season but it was not really the greatest season of the show, and the Mike Scully seasons 9-12 took the best classic years away from the show and it took the Al Jean seasons 13-18 to bring back some of the shows classic tone back even though i'm not really a fan of the Al Jean era.I don't agree with Crusser if he don't like The Simpsons anymore then he should not even watch the show anymore and he should not even be in the nohomers site because it don't make any sense at all period.

Is anybody registered is this forum and owns an issue of the "The Simpsons Christmas 2" dvd (R1)?

sorry can't help you

Oh, didn't know what you meant by R1. But yeah, Netherlands is region 2 too, but you know...., whatever.

I created a table which should be completed (Wikipedia talk:Homer vs. Dignity)

I blame him (and you) for thinking I hated every minute of trhe show from season 10, which I don't, but I can't say if it's bad, or otherwise if I don't watch the show. However, I don't go back and rewatch--or buy--the show just because "it's the simpsons and if anything owe them."
I've already stated my opinion and if you don't like it, you'll get over it. Not to mention hiding behind the childish "If you don't like, don't watch it!" is nothing more than pseduo-intelligent way of saying: "Shut up! You're opinon sucks!".That is a waste of energy, regardless of whether money changes hands. To do so because you're a simply a completist doesn't really cut it.
Taking "advice" from scyphantic 'fans' of the Scully era (and soon to be Jean) area would be theraputical equivelent to panda rape.If you want to talk about loss of dignity, then there's a place to start.
Well thats what I'm doing. :/To do so because you're a simply a completist doesn't really cut it.

The Captain Squid Price Report:
Target is not the place to go for the set. While the "head" was 29.99, the "standard" edition was 39.99!! I asked the employee in the tech department and he confirmed that it was no error. I couldn't argue with him as he was in a wheelchair. How could I say "This is unfair! Why is the 'collector's edition' less than the 'standard edition'?? They're the same thing minus a cheap piece of plastic!" when the employee in the wheelchair could easily reply "Dude, I'm in a wheelchair. THAT'S unfair. It's just a DVD, get over it."
Anyway... I went across the street to Best Buy and found that BOTH editions were 28.99, so I bought it!
The Captain Squid Package Report:
Despite the many posters here raising pitchforks and yelling "The season 11 package has returned!", I say the season 11 package has IMPROVED! The box itself is about 1mm wider, allowing the discs to be less tightly packed into their sleeves. The sleeves are set in a little and have tabs, allowing for one to easily slide them out. The paper that the discs lie on is a high gloss, compared to the rough matte of season 11. This allows the discs to slide and is less abrasive a surface.
The artwork is TOP NOTCH! Never would I think to see so many Radioactive Man references in a Simpsons DVD set! In fact, it feels like Bongo Comics have influenced the last few sets. Krustyland (season 11) originated in a Krusty Comics mini-series, Bartman and Radioactive Man (season 12) are much more prominent in Super Spectacular.
Art Mistake!!!
I found this mistake:
The booklet depicts CBG in a blue superhero outfit with his initials on his chest:
BUT the package art has him in the same outfit but it has been colored red and has the Radioactive Man logo. The lightening belt and wings on his head are definitely not a part of the RM costume. My guess is the inker or colorist didn't know that GBG was in his own costume, and thought it was a RM outfit instead.
The Library:
The Future:
Now we speculate who will feature on the season 13 set. I believe that a secondary female character will NEVER feature. Think about the most likely possible: Edna Krabappel, Patty & Selma... um... anyone else? I'm certain Hoover, Sheeri and Terri would never feature. Agnes Skinner, Manjula and Helen Lovejoy might only appear on a cover if their husband/son is featured (most likely). There are MANY male characters deserving: Moe, Flanders, Ralph, Apu and Burns being the top candidates. My money is on the color GREEN for season 13 and the character being Flanders. My second choice is YELLOW and Apu (his brown skin would contrast the yellow background, and yellow has yet to be a color).

That's the Season 13 thread. I guess it's time to move on to that one, right?

got mine last night, while the packaging still leaves the discs prone to scratching it's 10 times easier to get them out so bonus points for that, also i'm really glad to see that they brought back a bit from the animators i always liked those, and to whoever asked about the chalkboard gag on homer v. dignity i don't know if anyone answered yet (mainly because i don't pay much attention) but it says i was not the 6th beatle but if they changed it in the uk when it originally aired they could still change it on the dvd over there.
there........... now that's on topic![]()
Let us celebrate with the adding of chocolate to milk.

@ captain squid what's that next to your simpson's movie dvd in your library? i don't have one of those
That's the special edition of the movie soundtrack inside a plastic donut (that smells like donut) inside a "bakers" box. Next to that are the other soundtracks and music cds, then The Critic and (not pictured) all the Futurama DVDs. I still have to get Mission Hill...
