I love this show. The over the top violence every episode along with it's psychedelic brilliance makes it one of my favorite AS shows.

I only saw the pilot, but it was ridiculously awesome.

Watched a few minutes of an episode for the first time Friday.

    Wow.. Super interesting!

I love anything fast paced..and I always get a laugh out of dark humor.

Haven't seen enough to make a solid assessment of it.. It might even be too graphic for me. But Im definitely going to check out some more episodes.

It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance."

This show is kind of hard to take in, but unlike some Adult Swim shows, it has a lot of redeeming factors.

the animation is just awesome, compared to most Adult Swim cartoons, where you can tell they are on a budget because of limited movement. I also love the style.

I love how trippy the show is, yet it still manages to have a plot and isn't just complete randomness (but if you aren't paying close attention, it may seem like it). The trippy scene transitions are awesome too.

It also has a really kickass opening sequence, with Jacknife getting caught by Jailbot a different way every time, followed by him being carried over different, funny scenes every episode. And the song kicks ass.

    What I don't like:
    - I realize one of the show's main points is extreme violence, but its not exactly my thing. I know some people are into it, but I don't see how it can still be satisfying when every episode has an extended violence eruption sequence.

    - The twins, and how they're in every episode.
    - Needs more, and better main characters besides The Warden, Jared, Alice, and Jailbot.

The bits and pieces of this show that I have seen I've loved. The animation is like, 60's psychadelic almost and the Warden's such a great character. The whole thing's just trippy, like in the season finale when the time cops or whatever fire something at him that ages him to death...but then they re-age him. It's just trippy. I don't even completely know what to make of it still but I just like it.

It's leaps and bounds beyond some of the utter crap and wannabe ATHF shows that have been all over AS the past few years. I'll definitely see the rest of the episodes I've missed some time.

Too weird for me: kind of makes me think that Superjail is supposed to be Hell and the warden (the guy wearing purple) is the Devil.

I like how every ep has to have a mandatory BIG bloody fight scene!

This is the Hell Beavis & Butthead are going to when they die

my friend recommended this to me the other month, after i'd avoided it for the past year like most of [as] outside of tim & eric. said it reminded her of her something mtv might've shown back in the day, and that the animation was the closest she's ever seen her artwork come to life. and yes, like 12 oz. mouse or squidbillies or something it's complete nonsensical nonsense but for once it's fun instead of painful and boring, and holy shit what beautiful animation! i understood her "something mtv might've shown" comment immediately; this could have aired on liquid television

Apparently it's not on their 2009-2010 schedule. Is it canceled, or is it just gonna take awhile to get another season going like Venture Bros?

  13. #43

I sure hope it's not cancelled.

But then again I hear it did end in a pretty neat and tight way.

  14. #44

there are usually long gaps in production with adult swim shows, I wouldn't expect them to cancel this.

I came across this show a few nights ago. I think the only time I'd ever heard of it was here, and even then, just by a glance at this thread's title.

It was so awesome. Hilarious and, for what it was, surprisingly well-animated.

I often found myself thinking "How the hell did they come up with that?" while watching it. Always a good sign. I'll have to check into it.

I just watched the pilot and this was exactly the impression I got - 100% zany and violent randomness, which is just not funny on its own. Care to explain the "plot" of the pilot?

Yea..I don't think this is the most brilliant show (after seeing more of it). But the animation really is amazing.
A little too gory/random for me.

Itunes, bro. I listen to that shit like weekly now, it's actually starting to creep up in my most frequently played songs.

interesting blurb from Jackson Publick's livejournal

Other than the above, I've been spending my time watching every episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, reading about gladiators, reading Jason's new graphic novel "Low Moon," helping out with new SuperJail scripts a little bit, enjoying my new Red Dragon e-cigarette, and trying to pick a color for my living room walls. So, you know...busy.
sounds like it is coming back eventually

edit: saw this posted in the comments by Jackson
I worked with them a bit on the scripts for "Cold Blooded" and the Time Police episodes, yes. Currently, they're writing episodes for the next season while they await an official greenlight from the network.

Dang, they're really pushing this hiatus into overdrive... nearly two years since season one [proper] premiered!

    Hopefully "Robotomy" is as entertaining.

Anyone else get the season 2 DVD out this week? Unfortunately, there is no insert (a minor pet peeve of mine). I loved the warden suit in the season 1 DVD.

Season 3 is apparently debuting this spring, and I hope the producers stick to their "promise" that, if renewed for a third season, they would combine the surrealism/violence of season 1 and the character development of season 2. Could be the best one yet!

One of there best show once the 2nd season started and episodes actually had plot and charecters development and much funnier. Also I like the flash animation better than the traditional animation in the first season, it actually seems animated better now. And I can't wait till season 3 to find out what happens.
I'll definitely be picking up the season 2 DVD sometime soon.
