Sorry if this has been brought up elsewhere...but anyone know when a new episode guide will be coming out?

like the book guides or what?
Yeah the episode book guides, I think there are 4 of them now.

No one knows yet, it's still in production. In fact, last time I was in contact with Jesse McCann about it a title hadn't even been decided yet.

Wow. Well that would definitely be worth it. I've been waiting a few years so I guess another year wont hurt too much.

And if they follow the same format as the last two books (two pages for standard episodes, four for THOHs/trilogies), we'll be seeing a book that's even bigger than the first guide.
This is great news. I wonder what the title will be.

Maybe "One Giant Leap Beyond Forever"?
If I recall correctly that is one of the titles that Jesse once told me had been put forward.
I wonder how this will affect the quality. Hopefully they don't go down the route of giving every episode a double page and four pages for tripart stories - the book will be too heavy to carry, and they were clearly missing things out by restricting themselves like that (at least one episode in One Step Beyond Forever had no screengrabs at all). Giving some of the less interesting episodes only one page could free things up for the episodes they want to give more space to - I'm certain the triparts don't need four pages each.
Season 25 Ratings
Awful, probably
If the next book contains six seasons, I'd like to see 'em go back to the first and second books' format - the all-double format looks nice, but it does force them to pad out a lot of episodes that don't have enough memorable material for two or four pages. Which brings up another point - beginning with "Tales from the Public Domain", they started giving four pages to those non-"Treehouse of Horror" three-story episodes, and there are a lot of them in Seasons 15 through 19 (I bet Season 20 will have at least one of them too).
Plus, there's also all the production art and character designs, not to mention the super-long index, and I wouldn't be surprised if they dedicated at least a few pages between Seasons 18 and 19 to The Simpsons Movie. Maintaining the all-double format for this next book will probably put it in the neighborhood of 300 pages. Really, how long is too long?

I like the episode guides, a lot. I use them when trying to find which episode is in which season so i know what dvd boxset to look in.

i see.
i dont doubt the books are fun to own, i just rather not update constantly update it. its like owning those "Ultimate Film Guide Books" i just rather wait for the film industry to go outta business to by one then constantly upgrade.
I know that the new season premieres the 28th, and the first episode will be "Sex, Pies, and Idiot Scrapes" info from Wikipedia.org
...and?
First, I don't see what that has to do with this topic, second, most people here already know that as there is a Season 20 discussion thread...
i think the dude got decided to stop after reading "New Simpsons Episode" and forgot to read the rest of the thread title

Yeah, that's it.
Shame i came in here, thinking there might have been a possibility that one was coming out this christmas :S Much like the DVD covers, they've totally messed with the format of these books, leaving no nice continuity (sigh) Oh well. 6 Seasons in a book will at least justify the price (As long as it's not more than £20).
Also...
You're going to be waiting a heck of a long time then. I can't imagine a time in our lifetimes, that there's going to be no films being made :Pi dont doubt the books are fun to own, i just rather not update constantly update it. its like owning those "Ultimate Film Guide Books" i just rather wait for the film industry to go outta business to by one then constantly upgrade.
Well duh. It has been only two days since the Season 20 finale. Give it time.
