I preferred this one to BBS, since the story was sufficient to drive the humour, whereas BBS seemed to be just about ALL story. I guess I must prefer my Futurama to be more about the funny

Saw it on Comedy Central last night: not bad. I give it 3/5.
Finally saw it on DVD recently. Having heard that it was weaker than BBS, I went in expecting much worse and perhaps enjoyed it more as a result as I didn't dislike it as I thought I might. That said, I'd have to agree with the general sentiment in the thread as far as it being inferior to BBS but still entertaining in its own right. I'd also agree that the ending was the weakest part for me, with the parody of religion being somewhat clever in parts but at the same time a bit heavy handed.
"How could this have happened?
We started out like Romeo & Juliet but it ended up in tragedy..."
- Milhouse Van Houten
I loved it.
4/5.
Fry Tenicle Priest. League of Robots. Good Sci Fi.
Robot Devil: I'd rather think we can strike a deal Bender. I shall give you your army of the damned. And in return, I ask just one thing. Just one itty bitty thing. YOUR FIRST BORN SON... ....AHAHAHAHAHAH
Bender: Just a sec...
Scene shows happy Nighbourhood.
Benders son: DADDY! I'D KNEW YOU'D COME BACK!
Bender hugs son. Picks him up and walks off.
Robot hell.
Bender: Here you go!
Kicks his son through a window and into a pool of lava.
I'm formal. But I'm here to party.
I thought it was...alright.
Saying it's higher on humor, but lighter on story is pretty much it but that's not what really bugs me. What bugged me is I felt like it lasted way longer than it was supposed to. By the time they got to the thing about making the whole universe break up with Yivo and on I started to feel like it was dragging on. Also, I felt like there were too many little storylines and it got sort of cluttered to the point when it got to the end I just sort of blinked and said "...that's it?" to myself because it all got wrapped up so well...quickly. You had the thing with Fry, Bender joining that society of robots, Amy losing Kiff, the thing with Leela surviving, the thing with Yivo which was practically a whole movie in itself...and I think even more than that.
While some may not have liked the first one's higher emphasis on story and it's understandable...at least it was more focused from beginning to end. To me, this is the polar extreme opposite of that.
It is a funnier movie I definitely give it that, but just for me personally...I sort of like to have the overall thing feel like it has a direction too.
Also, I thought that after having an entire movie that was pretty reserved and even somewhat serious at times... and almost completely dedicated to Fry's love life like the previous film, was it really necessary to have us sit through what was essentially yet another mopey "Fry is lonely" deal? And right after to boot? Even if it was one of like...a hundred stories going on at once, it was still one of the driving ones. I like stuff about Fry but it needs a break next time around.
Aside from that stuff though, for the most part up until the aforementioned part where I thought it started to drag it wasn't bad. Even past that point I thought the whole idea of Yivo in general was amusing and interesting. Still felt sort of blank by the end though.
3/5. It's higher on small-time humor and has an amusing premise, but its story is a bit nonsensical.
I thought Benders Big Score was better actually. It feels more like an actual film than beast with a billion backs. Anyone else feel that "family guy" gags were used a lot in this one, or is it just me?

what do you mean by "family guy" gags?
I loved seeing my Futurama friends back in motion again. I treasured every minute!
I'm looking forward to the next movie also, looks just as crazy/good as this was.
5/5. Baby I'm Back!
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?
A giant monster rapes everyone.. that's the entire plot.. and... you all love it.
I can go on and on picking apart every aspect of this film... bad characterizations, bad writing, bad pacing, the animation is even off in spots, a rather large half of the film is just plain boring, instead of going on and on... it's easier to simply do this....
it gets an.. 0/5!
Eric Kaplan can stay on writing "Da Big Lame Theory" b/c his f'n writing here is just plain terrible.
The only joke that is even truly funny (in the whole entire film) is when Bender kicks his son into lava.
For shame Futurella, for shame.
You know, they never show any kids intentionally the entire film, but it's still impiled the Yivo rapes everyone on earth, the entire populace....including all the earths kids... so yeah.... a giant planet/child molesting monster story with no point... and this is 'your' favorite Futurama movie...
Dear God, please help us all... and I'm atheist!

Just watched it this morning on Netflix for the first time since '08.
I still have the same opinion as the first time - it had a very strong first half, filed with hilarious sci-fi jokes that never stop entertaining. Then once the tentacle gets introduced, it starts to drag on a little. Still, a fantastic movie and probably the best one of the four. 4.5/5 (rounded up to 5 in the poll)

1/5 for the same reason as @MuchAdoAboutNothing

never was fond of this movie. there were a lot of moments that tried to be funny, but most fell flat. i liked bender kicking his son into hell and the robot devil's reaction though, one of my favorite jokes. the plot kinda took too long to get going for me. 2/5 or so
Gonna have to lower this down to a 1.5/5. So boring and predictable. Almost as bad as season 21 of the Simpsons.
I rewatched this with my little cuz, and other than Bender and the League; he thought it was all pretty shitty as well.
Mostly it was just simply unfunny to him.
Glad to know the youths can recognize trash just as easily.
I must say the film does deserve a 1/5 and not a 0/5.. b/c Bender is pretty awesome here, but that is all there is to like.
"A shark on whiskey is mighty risky.. but a shark on beer.. is a beer engineer."
The problem with this movie is that the plot is to short to fill a movie so it has a alot of weird overly stretched out jokes that serve the purpose of filler.
It did have good moments but it would have been better if you take the best parts of the film and put them in a 20 minute episode instead.
2/5
