Championship Final: Homer the Heretic vs. Cape Feare

After 3 weeks of this tournament we have a final and it's a final between 2 of my favourite episodes of all time:

Homer the Heretic vs. Cape Feare

Thanks to everyone who voted in this tournament. It was the first one of these that I ever ran and liked reading everyone's views. I'm giving serious consideration to doing a similar tournament. featuring characters outside the family but wouldn't start it until June,

"Homer the Heretic" got my vote.
Kids, let me tell you about another so-called ``wicked'' guy. He had long hair and some wild ideas. He didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...
I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. Marge, you know what I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car?

-- Homer's parable of the guy in the blue car, ``Homer the Heretic''

    Ralph: I Won! I Won!
Principal Skinner: No Ralph this means you're failing English
Ralph: Me fail English? That's unpossible.

    CF ftw

Homer the Heretic for me as it touches a sensitive subject and really makes you think. Cape Feare is shallow in comparison but still good for some fun.

Cape Feare, it's one of my personal favorites, and a classic Sideshow Bob episode.

    Heretic!

Cape Feare is possibly the most overrated episode ever.
    Dramatization: May not have happened.

Very Very Tough but I went with Homer the Heretic

This is a tight one. Cape Feare may have more funny moments but I think Homer the Heretic is a great mix of humor and plot. My vote goes to Heretic.

    This battle is epic.

    Heretic FTW

    My two favorite episodes. Amazing.

Homer the Heretic has more value as an episode, so I go with that one.

^Are you going to do the secondary characters one? If not, I'll try to do it.

This shouldn't have been so close but I'm still glad the right episode won.

I'm thinking about doing it myself but wouldn't start it until June, give some sort of break from all these tournaments.

Well, Homer The Heretic and Cape Feare together share the first place for my favourite Simpsons episode.
Both are genious in their respective ways.
Cape Feare is the absolutely funniest Simpsons episode for me, it has the highest great jokes per minute ratio and also belongs to the most atmospheric episodes.
Homer the Heretic is the most well-rounded episode in the series, it has lot of great humor and its story is one of the most meaningful ones.
The deciding factor for me is the fact that Cape Feare's story is a full time parody which makes it a little bit more derivative, thus my vote goes for Homer The Heretic. Ihmo, it's the most iconic Simpsons episode anyway.

Edit: shit, too late. Talk about redundant post, heh.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Anyway, okay, just let me know if you change your mind and need someone else to do it.
