So with just under 4 weeks away post your ideas and thoughts on the new season of South park! I think they should do a parody of Cloverfield and bring back Darth Chef!

I demand a Writer's Strike-focused premiere, dammit.
And now, the pointless hoping everyone's gonna state: less "topic" episodes. Last season's finale was great in its simplicity and back-to-basics set-up, more of that would be appreciated. I guess.
I'm so sick of parodies from them. They're usually so focused on the subject matter that it's hard for anybody who hasn't seen what's being parodied to actually get it. And I don't see much.
Also, everything Starsky already said.
Seconded. But yeah, if they're going to do a topical episode, they should do one on the writer's strike. Maybe parody it in some other way, instead of a writer's strike, have it be... something else that's clever. More episodes like The List would be best though.Originally Posted by StarskyMaxwell
Also, no Darth Chef. Let's let Chef rest in peace (or in pieces).
I've still been enjoying south park on the whole, not without it's flaws, but it's the best comedy on t.v at the moment I think, and doing a hell of a lot better than simpsons was doing at this point.
I think they'll certainly do a Cloverfield-esque episode, just for the sake of doing it.
Their latest episode, The List, was probably one of the best and I do hope that they can continue the tide of high-quality episodes after that. I'm still pissed off that they killed off Chef (or maybe they'll bring him back again like Kenny), but nonetheless, some of the recent ones has been good while some were miss
calmer than you are
Please, no return of Darth Chef or Cloverfield episode. Please. And only two or three parody/topical episodes. We need more character episodes in this show. No matter what, I'll still be looking forward to a new season.
I'm hoping, like everyone else, that they finally start to move away from the movie parodies, conspiracy theories, topical episodes that all have the exact same message regardless of the topic, overly dramatic cues, ect. that we've been getting endlessly for the past few seasons. I'm hoping that "The List" was a step in the direction we'll be seeing this season, with hopefully more of a focus on character, but I doubt it.
wait, is it just me or is South Park like pumping out a new season ever 8 months or so, instead of like once a year like it should be...
Wait, is it just me or do you type in a really annoying pink font?
South Park has much shorter seasons than most other shows so they have a mid-season break each season but every season starts in March each year.
This just doesn't get discussed enough. I've been fucking SICK of South Park's "dramatic" tone from the last few seasons. Characters such as Cartman and Randy, and sometimes others, will talk dramatically and over-dramatize little things and... it's very rarely funny in the least. At this point, it's just annoying.Originally Posted by Jakebert
Agreed. As long as it's good, of course. To be honest I'm really looking forward to seeing the show back. I'm wanting original, funny stuff like they always have, although it's been slipping in the past coupl'a seasons. 'The List' was fantastic, let's start from there. March 12th here we come!Originally Posted by StarskyMaxwell

Less structure, more funny. They get so wrapped up in making a point, that they forget that some of their funniest episodes are just mishmash of ideas. Cartman Gets an Anal Probe was a great first episode because it had some semblance of a plot, then spit in the face of people expecting resolution.
Edit: Oh wait, this is for predictions. I predict they'll come up with about 4 funny episodes and a bunch of shovelled crap.
If this has already been made, then I'm sorry. But anyways...South Park begins in exactly one week! Episode details will probably be released very soon, especially if its controversial. I predict if we haven't heard anything by Friday, then don't expect anything truly special. BUT, you never know! So, let the speculation begin and I'll update the second we get info on next Wednesday's episode.
On a side note, next Tuesday sees the release of Imaginationland (the three-parter from last year) on DVD. Normally I would wait until the S11 DVD comes out, but it does include commentary, storyboards and about five minutes of new footage. Then again, I'm running low on money and Brawl is coming out this week, too...tough decision...
Yep, and it's a commentary maxi rather than their traditional commentary minis![]()
I might rent the Imaginationland DVD just to see what's different, then I'll wait until Season 11 comes out to own the trilogy. Brawl is more important.Originally Posted by homer5000
But anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for the first run of Season 12. I'm not as enthused as I used to be years ago, but still, I have every intention of tuning in. Info on Wednesday's episode will probably be out on Saturday at the earliest and Monday at the latest.
bump
Does anyone think there will be a Christmas episode this year??? I mean they'd have to make one run of the season an episode shorter (maybe the first run, making it 6 eps, not 7) and then being able to add it on at the end of the year about a month or so after the season would normally end.
Any thoughts?
Yep i had a thread on South Park S12 which is still around but i don't mind about this one anyway on to speculation i've heard lots of talk about S12 and i heard a few ads have aired over the past few weeks on Comedy Central, has anyone on this Forum seen them!
I haven't been to SPS's forum in forever, though the front page of the site says nothing about the Season 12 premiere other than when it is. They're mostly talking about the Imaginationland DVD.
If the second half of the season begins in late October or early November (thus extending the season into mid-December), then we might get a Christmas special. However, they seem to be all tapped out of Christmas specials since Season 8. Season 9 ended the first work of December while Seasons 10 and 11 ended in November, the week before Thanksgiving (a week they used to take off back when the second half of a season didn't start so early).
REPLAY the night of the living homeless episode but put hilary and baracks face on all the people asking for "change"

They should do a parody of the Golden Compass.

merged homer5000's thread into the original one, so now instead of two threads, we have one! yay!
anyhoo, i can't wait for the season premiere, especially since last season ended with such awesome episodes. guitar queer-o and the list were my two favorite episodes of last season, and they just happened to be the final two of the season. as for the people who want darth chef to come back... no. chef is gone and there would be no point in bringing him back for any reason.
They'll probably do an election episode since we got one in Season 4 and in Season 8. They may also do an episode about the writer's strike, assuming that isn't too far in the past now.
I agree with pat, the last two episodes of Season 11 were awesome (especially The List). I hope we get more episodes like those.
Okay i found the season 12 ads i was on about, here is one of them

and for people who say Darth Chef won't come back he could because he still appears in the opening credits of South Park.
He is behind Timmy.

The first few times that they did it, it was humorous, but after using it in every single episode, it starts to get pretty annoying. I've actually turned a few episodes off because I couldn't stand listening to it.Originally Posted by Sideshow Jay

pretty sure darth chef was a one-off gag. would be surprised if they brought him back in some sort of long-form episode.

Only if Isaac gets his head out of his ass and returns to the show, in which case they'd probably do an episode in which Darth Chef is saved and reverted to normal Chef. I don't see that happening though. The reason Darth Chef appears in the opening credits is probably to fill the space where Chef once stood.
if they wanted to "fill the space" they could very easily put somebody else in his spot.Originally Posted by Sideshow Jay
