Whats the deal with the north Kentucky line?
Whats the deal with the north Kentucky line?
In the original airing, the Simpsons were referred to as being a "northern Kentucky family", but then in a repeat, the line was changed to "southern Missouri family", apparently as a way for the writers to just screw with people who really care what state Springfield is in.
I'm pretty sure in syndication the line is changed back to "northern Kentucky", and that's probably how it'll be on the DVD too. They may have an alternate audio track with "southern Missouri", but either way, I really don't see any conceivable reason why that would hold up release of the DVD.
The Season will be in french stores on June 25. Same day as Bender's Big Score. ^^

Notoriety for whatever reason, never seems to benefit the noted, only the 'notees'
Again, I'll believe it when I see it. I can't count the times when someone has announced a false date in these threads.Originally Posted by Heub
June/July for the US? Sounds about right.
Hmmm. Eleventh Season.
When this box will be released in Europe or in Finland?
I have 1 to 10 seasons in DVD boxes, so this box might be intresting too.![]()
why isn't this info on foxfrance.com yet?Originally Posted by Heub
I'm still not sure if I should get season 11 when it comes out, I think my collection will be fine with season 1-10, since I really didn't like too many of the episodes in season 11. I kinda want it so I can listen to the commentary though
Come on man, you've got to get S11, even if it's just for Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?
I'll be getting S11 for sure. The episode where Maude dies is a bit of a classic....oh you tease you....star wipe...all of that is gold. Behind the laughter is very good. There's a few others that are good.
But from memory, and looking at the wiki entries season by season....this is the season I started to turn from a religious/ tape every episode off TV watcher...to I'll watch it if I remember....to I don't even know what night it's on anymore.
Hey Lou, Lou check out that park job in 7a......woo hoo hoo that's sweet
I getting all the Seasons up to 20, if they carry on much past Season 20 I might not get them but definately the first 20 Seasons. Season 11 has Behind The Laughter, Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner? and Last Tap Dance In Springfield which are all eps I really enjoy...
For the Tenth season it was USA Aug 7 and France Aug 29, maybe this time it will USA June 5th (it's a tuesday) and France June 25th. If that true we could expect news and cover on march.
Prout !!
I'll buy it, I just hope it's only available in one damn box style. Amazon finally sent me my season 10 Bart head box so I have all 5 of those, which is a difficult thing to pull off when I don't have much money or time to get them.
"I'll die before I surrender, Tim."
there is no way they are going to release it in france first.Originally Posted by Oto

Now that the writer's are off strike, does anyone think that the commentaries will be recorded soon?
Take your stinkin' paws off me, you damn dirty ape.
Yes and? It's exactly what i said, US released in first ! ...Originally Posted by KoenSoontjens

I just found out that the writer's strike is pretty much over. Hopefully this means the commentaries will now be recorded and the box set hopefully released by June!
Call me crazy, but I'm really kinda looking forward to seeing this season on DVD. Sure, it only has two or three good episodes, with the rest being very meh, but it holds significant nostalgic value as S11 was the first season I watched premiere live. Good to hear the release date is coming soon...
...I personally cannot wait to hear the reaction to some episodes in the commentary. The one for "Monty Can't Buy Me Love" is proof enough that "Saddlesore Galactica" and KTAAR will be simply classic...
sorry misread itOriginally Posted by Oto
,i should have read it twice.
I want to have all 19 seasons on DVD before the medium dies, but it might never happen at this rate.
The writers are off strike? Good to hear.Originally Posted by WeaselStomper

Also, there is no reason to release them to blu-ray as high-def content doesn't really improve cartoons that were drawn for 480i TV.
CRAP! At this rate, by the time we're at season 10 in blu-ray releases, a new medium will be out! We'll never get the post-classic seasons on home video!Originally Posted by sacrelicious

BASTARDS!
You're right, that really sucks! They better carry on with the DVD seasons for a good while yet or else!...
As for Season 1 on BuRay how pointless, unless they fit it all onto 1 disc...
For the skeptics out there, this morning Philippe Peythieu, the French voice of Homer, gave an interview on a French radio and also mentioned the date of June 25 as the release date for the season 11 boxset.
For those of you who understand French you can listen to the interview here : http://www.radioscoop.com/scoopa.php...77&z=main_col1
