I'm not sure, the early art that they had for S10 was the original, and I don't know how any fan could get their work on Amazon for a pre-release product listing.

If the picture at this link is what you're talking about, then no, I don't think it's fan made.

They took a scene from the Season 9 episode Miracle on Evergreen Terrace:

put the image backwards, and then put it on blue. Then for some reason they put Professor Frink in the background, too. That's basically all that the picture is. I'm almost 100% sure that it isn't fan made.

I have no idea where they got it from, but Amazon had similar images for season 10 before its box art was released, so it's not real box art.

And 99.99% of the time not real = fan art.
Notoriety for whatever reason, never seems to benefit the noted, only the 'notees'

    I guess we'll find out.

The thing is that season 11 was a really bad season for The Simpsons.
It would be a good thing if at least we get two season sets for 2008.
    mmmm.....The Simpsons Season 11 coming soon...mmmm...........donut..........

Yeah to just have Season 11 this year would blow...

  9. #189

2 this year seems likely. I think they decided to release the movie in December instead of season 11. If so, they may delay s11 until summer, with s12 next December.

Since they've never done 3 a year, the fact that there is a writer's strike almost guarantees there will be 3 this year.

The word 'sarcasm' would come to my mind here.

To be quite honest, no it doesn't. It's been there for years, I just haven't got around to chucking it out and changing the locks

Does anyone fear that Fox would have the balls to release this quicker by leaving out the commentaries?

Yeah, I've been fearing that too, especially since I know casual fans would buy it anyway with or without commentary. But for me the commentary is pretty much the main selling point, and I wouldn't buy it if there was none.

Fox would pull anything to make money, and nothing they do would surprise me. Living in fear of it is borderline paranoia.

it wouldn't surprise me if first they release it without commentaries, and when the strike is over they would release a box with commentaries.

I'm not buying it if there's no commentaries.

I'd rather them delay the date then there be no commentaries.

I am sure there is no rush as people are still spending their money buying the movie DVD.

Has there been any recent news on this release? This thread is from August and there's nothing on TV Shows on DVD.com. It's not one of my favorite seasons but I'd love to see it on DVD nonetheless.

I want them to hurry up and release this because I want Season 12 and they need to get this out the way first...

Could it be the new artwork theme holding it up?...

It could be that.... or it could be the WGA strike...

Read through the last few pages, there is a giant discussion on reasons it could be held back. At the moment the best reasons seem to be:

    A) The movie DVD pushed this back.
    B) The writer's strike is holding up the recording of commentaries.

For me the main reason to own this set is to hear the commentaries and the possible fan talk that might ensue. No commentaries, no sale

I'm a devoted fanboy, so I would purchase the boxset either way.
