Go back a page, there's already photos from someone with the standard edition.

Again, first person to get the Head case, confirm that its just the standard case with a removable Krusty head. You will be greatly rewarded.![]()
UP AND ATOM!
Woo, I got mine today (Amazon sent it earlier than expected), the standard version. It's quite a different box to previous Seasons, which I didn't realise from the previous photos posted. It's noticably thinner, and the inside consists of concertinaed fold-out sleeves, a little like earlier Seasons (1-5). But there's no plastic tray for the discs, they're stuck under the sleeves and are a bitch to get out! Cool scene on the back, as you can see from bento's photos.
And since it's my lunch break, I'm off to watch KTAAR with commentary - BTW the mysterious "Hohn Swartzwelder" isn't listed on any episode in the booklet![]()

Not quite, but they accepted the episode was very wacky and acknowledged that a lot of fans hate it. No Swartzwelder though, I guess previous press release was just a mistake.
The DVD menus are nice; they follow the same format as the previous 6 Seasons. I'll probably put up some DVD screenshots and photos on my site tonight.
I'm glad they're aware of KTAAR's lack of quality. In all honesty, I'm not a hater. It's a tv show with it's ups and downs, but not a President or a war. I dislike a bad Simpsons episode like I dislike my dad after an argument, I'm a little peeved but I still love him.
Can't wait to see THOH X again, just in time for Halloween!

Eh..This sucks.. Buying this DVD is like voting for someone just because you dont want the other guy in office. You'll suck your pride up and do it..but you're not into it 100%.
I may grab it today or tomorrow. I enjoy listening to TV commentaries, and The Simpsons are generally the only show that does it right. Even though with Scully their generally boring..While they just laugh the whole time at whatever low-brow gag.
"Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance."

I just picked up the Krusty Head dvd and it's just the regular box with the plastic Krusty head glued on the front cover (which can be removed if your careful).
The booklet lists the extra "And Then There Were Menus" being on disk four but unless its an easter egg I coudn't find it, and yes the cardboard sleeves are a fucking nightmare.

Good i was hoping for that.... now i can store the krusty head away in my closet so the regular box will match the 10 standard boxes on my shelf.
Not to be neurotic (actually to be incredibly neurotic) is it the sticky removable rubber glue, or supposed-to-be-permanent glue?
OK, who the fuck designed this thing?! Cardboard sleeves = bad (no, horrible) idea. Any easier way to deal with this?

So, how is the episode booklet, is it like the one from Seasons 6-10? or what?
Was it an attempt at making it as close as they could to being carbon neutral like the Futurama movie cases?

Newbie here.
I just bought the special addition case, and it was pretty crappy how the disks were stored. Kinda reminded me of the Futurama Movie cases. Rather than risk damaging the disks everytime i want to watch them, I just removed them and put them in normal CD storage cases. Jolly good![]()
I suggest we voice our concerns to Fox.. they fixed the Homer Head fiasco with Season 6, surely if enough voices are heard we'll at least get acknowledgement.
You can e-mail them via the complaint form on the Fox Home Entertainment website, or write an actual letter and mail it to the address below:

I dunno, I don't think I'm being anal like this - but I have to buy seperate cases now for this set so I don't scratch the discs every time I try and take them out. Something needs to be done.
Meh, crappy boxes for crappy seasons.
Jk, I don't believe that. Just wanted to say it before it was said.
I'm fine with the carbon neutral approach, but why can't they do it in the way the Futurama movie cases are done, where the discs are easy to reach and packaging/disc damage is not a risk? I am so sending a letter to Fox Home Video. This, environmentally-friendly or not, is unacceptable.
Aside from that, I am enjoying the Krustyland theme, and already the commentaries (beginning with "Faith Off", my personal first episode) are containing tons of "what were we thinking?!" Good times...
Most of the commentaries for these future sets is going to be like Costner reading his commentary for The Postman to Lisa.
I do love how much new art the packaging opens itself up to. I can only imagine how awesome upcoming seasons will be. I still hope for Apu/Kwik-E, Moe/the Tavern, Ralph/School, CBG/Comic Convention, Otto/Rock Concert, Willie/School etc...

Yeah, youre right. Thats probably what the rest of them will be.
Yeah, I figured they will be (A) Fan faves and (B) easily recognizable. Skinner is great, but a bit bland of a character design. Ooh! I'd love to see a Burns/Company Picnic!

Skinner looks odd frontwards for some reason...does anyone else notice that?
KTAAR commentary. They're addressing the backlash sort of vaguely, asking "can't we have a super-wacky episode once in a while?"
My answer: yes. But try to make it funny, and you've done it before...
Pricing update:
Target stores are selling both the Standard and Special Edition for $29.99. My local store was kind enough to hold both for me so I could decide, I have to ask for Richard. I'm probably just getting the standard box as I'm going to remove the head and store it anyway.![]()
Well...that commentary (KTAAR again) sucked. They just kept laughing, no background, and constantly said, "well, shucks! I'm defending this!"
These were the same people who were appalled at the ending of Monty Can't Buy Me Love last set! Are you fucking kidding me?!!
Yo dudes, here's the Krusty head. It is NOT removable.

is there a reason why its a next to impossible to get the discs out?

i think you need to try again.... i can see the blue box at the bottom of that picture underneath of the krusty mess... you can see Krusty's yellow skin from, and then his white glove at the bottom towards the left side, as you can also see in the standard box.... it is removable, just be careful and try again
