That's pretty illogical seeing as how Season 3 came out well over a year after Season 2, and it's not as if that was such a screwed up season.

I don't understand what all of this confusion is about. The release schedule for this stuff has been the same almost since the beginning.

    S4 - summer 04
    S5 - winter 04
    S6 - summer 05
    S7 - winter 05
    S8 - summer 06
    S9 - winter 06
    S10 - summer 07
    Movie - winter 07
    S11 - summer 08
    S12 - winter 08
    S13 - summer 09
    etc...

We're just arguing in circles because we haven't had an announcement yet, which is making it less and less likely that we'll get it in August.

Yea..It was 2 seasons a year consistently. Now its likely to be well over a full year for the release. I suppose the movie/strike could have blipped the schedule a bit.

Anyhow, I dont mean to continue a pointless discussion. Just kinda finally hit me how long it had been.
"Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance."

    >Peter J Nehra has sent the following email:
    >it has been a year almost......
    >
    >do you hear any reason why it has been delayed?
No word on that yet, sorry.

Now approaching 11 months since the most recent release and still no news...

I don't mean to complain, but I'm gonna stop checking this thread for about 2 weeks and hopefully some news will arise from the ashes. Sadly though, we're now looking at an October 2008 release for the US, at this rate.

Finally! A date! I can't believe a Simpsons movie AND two Futurama movies have been released between season 10 and 11. So who appears on the cover? Moe?

No cover as of yet, just the date. I was really surprised at seeing this, it just caught my eye. I think we can expect more news pretty soon now and not just 'hope' for it.

I'd say place Apu, Moe, Flanders and Maude on the cover. This really was their season. Apu gets eight babies, Moe gets pretty (best episode of this season) and Maude bites the big one (an XL size I believe) leaving Flanders sing-diddly-ingle for the rest of the series.

Finally! It's been a long time coming and it'll be a further 3 months (or thereabouts) before it arrives, but at least now we know that. I imagine it'll be released around november in Britain then. That's quite a long wait since season 10.

Extras will follow soon I imagine, as will boxart a little later. I still think it'll be based around the Kwik-E-Mart.

Well, it's been almost a whole year since Season 10 was released, but finally Season 11 will be released (although some of the episodes are crap)!

Sadly I'll be in school when this gets released, so I probably won't get my hands on it until around Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Also of note, the next DVD set of Family Guy was announced today for October 21st. I guess the delay had something to do with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, NOT the staff of The Simpsons. But still, we finally know when this comes out!

Shall we speculate the audio commentaries now? (They haven't been revealed yet, just the release date.)

I like how the S11 DVD is considered as "long-awaited"...

Currently scheduled for October 6th in UK, though could be delayed.

According to that, the Australian version comes out November 5th. It looks like their continuing the Head Sets. This time it's Krusty...

Yeah, this Swedish store has "Krusty box" in the DVD title as well,
    http://www.cdon.com/product.phtml?prod=950910

Krusty has hair sticking out behind his ears though, so I'm not sure how they're gonna make the box..

um how can i sum up what im feeling

    EXTREMELY EXCITED

I really like season 11 for some reason i don't know why
"Look, Marge, you don't know what it's like. I'm the one out there every day putting his ass on the line. And i'm not out of order! You're out of order. The whole freaking system is out of order. You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't handle the truth! Because when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo, that was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do! Forget it, Marge. It's Chinatown!" - Homer's rant.

    Bring me Krusty's head!

A Krusty head huh? Sounds cool, but this really wasn't a Krusty heavy season. Aw well, he basically tops the fave five of supporting characters. Not picking up the head box though, I always go for the non-head box version. More original artwork, more cohesive theme and fits with the other ten seasons I own.

    Hey-hey Kids! Bring on October!

WOW! Reviewing the episode list I've seen that this REALLY isn't Krusty's season. Barney even features more prominently. Would have preferred Barney, Moe, Flanders & Maude or Apu. Ah well, but the klown sells.
But still, why not make Apu season 11 and Krusty season 12 (as Insane Clown Poppy is a season 12 episode)?

Really? Sounds a bit off to me, that'd mean we'd get it a day before America, which I can't see happening. Good if true though.

A Krusty head? I imagine that this is just speculation from those websites while waiting for an official announcement. It could end up being true, but it just seems a bit random, Apu or Flanders would've made more sense. Also, how is "In line with Matt Groening" going to fit in with Krusty? All I can think of is waiting in line to get his autograph or maybe in line at Krustyburger.

http://www.foxuk.com/dvd/coming-soon/ lists it as an October 6th release for the UK and also says it's a Krusty Head (It's under October). Not so sure about Krusty myself, but I'll wait for the art before I form my opinion.

EDIT: play.com also has it available for preorder.
