We're just as desperate for news on the next Simpsons DVD box set as you are, so naturally, any news on the matter is worth noting. And today, TVShowsOnDVD have done just that, reporting of word from a reliable source that The Complete Season Eleven will hit the stores in August, a full year after Season Ten was released. The reason for the delay and the skipping of a release in December 2007 is in part due to The Simpsons Movie release as well as the writers strike which halted the production of episode commentaries.

August is not an official release date, but it's as close as we have to any word so far. We're expecting an official announcement of release date and the highly anticipated new box art will be available within a month. More when we hear of it!

(this was reported on april 16th 2008 too) which means an official release date should be announced in the next three days..but i believe this i think it will be august

Yeah, it was posted a couple pages back.

And I'm not saying anything about waiting for news, it's just stupid that people are saying "z0mg! If there's no news by tomorrow then it's never coming out!" No, that's not how it works, and you're stupid for suggesting that. It means it's been delayed. Get the hell over it.

It's now been a month since TVShowsonDVD said they heard from a reliable source that Season 11 will be released in August.

Perhaps they'll do like the King of the Hill DVDs (which I don't collect) and stop making them...

Edit: I'm going to stop checking every day. Sooner or later, I'll hear about this and we'll all rejoice.

The Simpsons is possibly more popular where i live than in the USA. You never hear as many people talk about Family Guy as you do The Simpsons.

I'm sure it would be different if the BBC pulled their fingers out and showed FG at a time earlier than 11:30pm on a channel other than BBC Three.
