i wanna know if that homer 11 is going to be it for sure

i wanna know if that homer 11 is going to be it for sure

I'm gonna get the special krusty head it matches up with the regular 6-10 boxes.

yeah but im not sure that homer 11 is the standard
It looks to me that the 'limited edition' box cover is just a plastic slip cover that fits over the 'normal' one. I.E. they have melded the two designs.
An unlimited version would theoretically be the same as the limited one but without the slip cover. I, of coarse, hate this idea and hope that I am wrong.
As for the Homer 11 box design. Are some of you really really buying this? How many times have we seen a site post info on a Simpsons release and use a taiwanese/hong kong/chinese cover because the didn't yet have an official one. It doesn't even remotely resemble a simpsons DVD cover. Stop pretending that is legit.
"Look, Marge, you don't know what it's like. I'm the one out there every day putting his ass on the line. And i'm not out of order! You're out of order. The whole freaking system is out of order. You want the truth? You want the truth?! You can't handle the truth! Because when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo, that was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do! Forget it, Marge. It's Chinatown!" - Homer's rant.

for once I hope the Aussies aren't right

It shows the Krusty limited box design, and says season 11 will be released in October. There is also a list of special features

yep

Well, I guess thats pretty cool. But why can't it come out in August? Darn.
Instead of heads for boxes, I'd like to have locations of springfield. Example: The box would be shaped like Moes bar, with Homer and other characters from the bar outside drinking beer. The front would be the entrance to Moes Bar, the back cover is the back of moe's. The inside would show different parts of the bar.

Yeah I agree. Comic Book Guys Android Dungeon, Burns and Smithers at his office, Quimby at town hall,Krustyburger, Skinner, Chalmers, Willie outside Springfield Elementary. And as you said Moes Tavern
Thats not a bad idea, but who knows what will happen. Either way, the Krusty limited edition box set looks good. I'll try to get that one if I can.

Yeah, Krusty baby its awesome!
I'm probably gonna get the Krusty head, but what the hell is with the spine? It's Sideshow Mel and Sideshow Bob. There isn't any sideshow bob episodes in the 11th season so why do we see him? That kind of annoys me lol.

they're related to krusty so I think it makes good sense.
yeah but is this even a Krusty season? I cant think of any episodes with him.

nah. I guess they're really not trying to correspond to the season. oh well
does it really matter though??
no I guess its not important but it's kind of misleading, considering Krusty and his sideshows have nothing to do with season 11. Like out of all the characters, why Krusty? Honestly I dont care who they use for the cover, but I think they should of put Maude as one of the people on the spine, instead of sideshow bob.
The consistency of DVD art relating to the season has been hit and miss. Remember the octuplets showing up on the fourth season art? I think Al Jean did that on purpose to piss off nohomers.
UP AND ATOM!
Good point, plus sideshow bob is there too and he never had an episode in that season. Also on disc 3, skinner and edna seem to have feelings for each other, when the relationship between him and her didn't start until season 8. So I guess the box art doesn't matter at all, although it would be nice if it did.
.

Doesn't matter to me I just want The season already to help complete my collection. I think I'll get the krusty head.
I really don't think 'Al Jean' etc. has much say/input into the design of the boxes. However, it would have been much better if there was a consistant and detailed plan made out in 2001, for what they were going to do with the DVD artwork. Including, the right characters for the right seasons, one line of boxes, instead of randomly doing 2 lines of boxes from Season 6 onwards.
It's just one of those annoying things though, like i have the entire series of Peep Show on DVD, every series is consistantly designed except from the first one which sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, and it won't stop me buying it, but i can bet you if i had a well paid job, directing and editing the artwork for TV series, i'd do a hell of a lot more!
Speaking of locations for the box sets, I think a whole view of Springfield might be good when they might release the entire show in one big box set. Like a big box with all the seasons (no changes, and the normal boxes for post Season 5) inside.
I will be getting the Krusty head. S11 will mean that all the Simpsons classics will be no longer needed. We will also no longer need 'Film Festival' as Beyond Blunderdome is S11. This year I will be saying goodbye to four DVD's, but when S12 is out, it will only be one, Backstage Pass. By 2011, all of our individual releases will be useless (imo)
As has been said, Al Jean has no input into the DVD artwork, that's a totally different department at Fox. Plus the artwork for Season 4 was just stock stuff, it was used as promotional material before the set came out and was obviously just slapped on there because they had nothing else to use. Sideshow Bob was also in that artwork, even though there's no Bob episode on the Season 4 set.
