This Tim Long interview was recorded and uploaded in December, during the WGA strike, but it sheds some light on whether future Simpsons DVDs are still in production.

According to producer Tim Long, they're still recording commentaries for every single episode. Since he was absent from the Simpsons Bible Stories commentary, I wouldn't be surprised if a season 11 announcement came about eventually. If Tim Long is present for commentaries, it's on the season 11 DVD.

Seeing that there's about 3 months' waiting time between the official annoucement and the release date, we're looking at a July 2008 release or later. Almost (or even longer than) a whole year since the last season.

I am trying to find the right thread for this request, i think this might do. Does anyone have a screen shot or any image of Homers flyer for his Box Social in the Mansion Family episode? It’s the flyer that says: "It’s a Box Social” and Homers riding a high wheeler with a six pack in hand. Hands down one of the best images I have ever seen but I can't find a full sized one, anyone have any thoughts??

Maybe THAT's what's delaying the release of this! (Well, that and the writer's strike.) Right now we're looking at a July 8th or later release. I'm sure the audio commentaries have been recorded by now. The movie commentary tracks were recorded in July or August of last year, so the season 11 episodes could have been recorded in September/October, BEFORE the strike. Or they were recorded from mid-February through now, after the strike.

Then again, the movie DVD release could have been the "other release" of 2007, thus pushing back Season 11 release to August based on the past couple of years.

They need to hurry up, I wasn't bothered by not having it last year (thanks to the movie), but it's now April and stll no sign. I really hope it hits within the next couple of months.

The real reason for the delay is Matt Groening is taking quite a while to properly sugarcoat a DVD introduction to the worst season ever.

In a way, I'm not opposed to a longer delay until the season 11 DVD, for a specific reason, related to the DVD commentaries.

Jim Reardon has been finishing his Pixar project, which should come out later this year, freeing up his personal schedule so he can travel to L.A. to record Simpsons commentaries.

The longer it takes for the upcoming Simpsons DVD sets to enter production, the easier it'll be for Jim Reardon to participate in more episode commentaries, giving his input as supervising director. He's been missed in the previous couple of season sets.
