I do kind of agree that what was said was a bit uncalled for, but you shouldn't really retaliate, since it does affect how people will think of you.

But I agree that it's silly to make Mike Scully into some evil man with an ulterior motive of destroying the show. He was just out of his league.

Boycotting it is just useless anyway. There's no need to take some moral stance. It's just a TV show for gods sake. IMO all the seasons are worth getting, if only just for the commentaries and other special features.

I was under the impression the Movie DVD would replace any possible season releases during the end of 2007.

I'm not surprised we haven't heard anything - the release of the Movie buys them more time to come up with the box theme for the season 11-15 sets. And I'd rather they worked on it for a while and came up with a good theme rather than rushing it to get it done for the holidays.

Although they've probably already started recording commentaries - may have even done a couple the same day they did the movie commentaries.

I thin we'll either get season 11 with great extras and an inventive box design or the simpsons movie with lots of great extras.If season 11 is done well the simpsons movie might have hardly any special features.If they do the movie DVD well season 11 could have a rushed design or an Apu or Grampa head design.
What do people want more season 11 or the movie done well as good features could get more people to buy season 11?

we already know that the movie dvd will not have that much extra's so lets hope that season 11 will have a lot of extra's.

No, we don't know that at all. For the Season 10 DVD, some special features that were on the set did not appear in any press release on the internet. That could very well be the case for the movie as well.

well i hope you are right because i think the movie really deserves better and more extra's.but i think the extra list is final ,someone even posted the dvd menus in the simpsons movie forum.

We should get word on this set very soon i'd say in about 2 weeks we will have info on the S11 dvd.

It looks like 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has strayed away from their attempt to release 2 seasons per year. But then again, the DVD release of the movie may be the reason why no announcement has been made.

It's very likely that the audio commentaries have been recorded already. I'm predicting an announcement will be made in December, when the movie is released, with a release date in March.

Im wondering if this set will even have commentary on every track.

I know it was a little sketchy with S10 for a while.. Being as the show got..well..crappier over time. Its possible the commentaries will stop. Not alot to discuss with many episodes. Just the staff being boring or laughing at Homer getting hurt. Not exactly anything worth listening to.

I hope your wrong because if it's out in March in the US then that will mean it will be out in Ireland and the UK in May and July for Austrailia.

I hope that doesn't happen. Scully might not want to discuss the controversial stuff but I would imagine some writers wanting to defend their choices over things like Homer getting raped by a panda. And when it comes to S13 and beyond, Al Jean is usually a good guy to listen to.

Well the commentaries aren't scripted so I'd say they should be able to record them still. The DVD releases should remain mainly unaffected.
