this movie was real good real funny an had real good action scenes. Cargill was the best villain in the Simpsons he was really cool an is related to hank scorpio whos also really cool . the scene where you see Barts penis was really cool it made that fat homie BoVice laugh so hard and I laughed too we were screamin in the theater. It just needed rap music on the soundtrack an instead of burnin down the simpsons house they shoulda got in some impalas an done a drive by on thier yellow asses. Cargills was gangsta as shit HE ALMOST BLEW UP THE CITY which NO OTHER VILLAIN HAS DONE so remember that now.

If any other film was made with this script I think it definitely would not have made it big time.

I think the film should have centered around springfield more and should have focused on more than just the 5 Simpsons.

I was also hoping they might reveal some secrets, actually, come to think of it I cant remember if they did.

However as a film I feel it worked well and I am hoping for another 'On the big screen' adventure.

i'd say 3 STARS was pretty good, but could have been better. there were really some laugh out loud moments, but there's just something missing.

I love The Simpsons MOVIE. I would've went the day it was released at Cinema, however, I was on Holiday in Wales at the time, but I watched it on the Wednesday when I got back. When I first heard that it was only 90 minutes I was a bit disapointed becuase I wanted it to be 120 minutes but when watching it, I thought it was about the right length.

I think they shouldn't have changed the gag to what they did: The bit where Homer runs over Moleman with the sign as originally it was going to be "You Bastard" or something, but they changed it to "You Suck" which I thought wasn't as funny. Also, I don't think they should've had full-frontal nudity. But, It's only for like 1.5 seconds so I guess it ain't that bad.

    Overall, I love the MOVIE!

Absolute garbage. It was actually worse than I expected, and I went in with pretty low expectations. A god-awful plot, bad jokes, terrible characterization, and wasted opportunities for secondary characters to have funny lines. I give this movie a 0.5/5. A terrible, terrible movie. I can't believe how far the best TV show in history has fallen. It is such a damn shame, and the writers and producers should be ashamed. And will someone please explain to me what is funny about spider pig.

It was pretty good. Has some funny quotes and I enjoyed the story too. A tad too Homer orientated but the strong story justified it. It could have been much better but judging by the seasons/episodes around the time the movie was released, I don't know how much better it could have been TBH.

I give it 3/5 at best.

    it's a great movie, yeah.
could've been made better with some stuff, but it still does the show justice 4.5/5

My parents got a divorce when I was three. I could give a crap. But I cry every time without fail when I see Homer watch the video Marge made before leaving.

I rated 4.5. There's a lot I thought could have been better about the movie, but going to see the midnight premier of the movie is still one of the fondest memories I have from that year.

I thought it was awesome, although I've only watched it maybe twice or thrice since I bought it. To me it just seemed like a really long Simpsons episode... which I loved I also enjoy the way it was filmed/mastered. It's a lot cleaner looking than most Simpsons shows. As far as recommending it to a non-Simpsons fan... I could see how the appeal wouldn't be there. As a Simpsons fan... definitely monumental

As a matter of fact... I'm going to watch it right now.

Pretty enjoyable, and gets better with repeated viewings. Although some parts of the plot are a bit generic.

    4/5

Is it possible to change my rating to 3/5? My opinion on the movie has decreased a lot since I posted that review.

Thanks to CousinMerl for this great sig!

I would also like to add that I found Lisa annoying, such as the scene in the beginning when she was knocking on dorrs and when she met Colin. However, I can easily forgive this. It actually makes the movie feel more Simpsony that way.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

    Everything happens for a reason.

Just be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Don't worry about the world ending today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Wait, does that mean if she wasn't annoying then the movie wouldn't feel as "Simpsony" as it did to you?

What I meant that this makes it feel more complete with everything typical in The Simpsons (IMO).

    knocking on doors?
    falling in love?

Just admit it D'ohmer: "you wish her no happiness and wish she would just be quiet and be constantly insulted without consequence like FG's Meg.

The movie really should have stayed in Springfield. Or at least kept the leaving of it down to a bare minimum. Looking back now a few years later, the whole trip to Alaska just seems like a huge waste of time.

I mean, think about. What was acomplished by it that couldn't have been done with a much shorter and probably more entertaining local scenerio?

I actually like the trip to Alska. It gave it an adventure feel (IMO).

I think it was neccessary, sticking in the same location area/feel for 90 minutes would make some of the audience quite bored (mostly kids of course with their short attention spans).

The downside about it was the diminuition of "secondary character"-exposition during the second half.
But I guess that's because they wanted to put as much focus as possible on the Simpsons themselves for reaching as big a public as possible. Understandable.

My favorite scene is when Bart altered the wanted poster because I did not expect to see some people who have the same "altered" looks to be spotted and arrested.

I originally thought the joke would end when Bart finished the drawing.
