    Rate & Review "24 Minutes" (JABF14)

Principal Skinner opens a CTU – Counter Truancy Unit – at Springfield Elementary School with Lisa heading up the operation. Homer is sent on to dispose a container of yogurt so far past its freshness date that it could be toxic, but the reeking yogurt falls into the hands of Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney. With the help of Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian, Bart and Lisa must stop the bullies from releasing the ultimate stink bomb at the school’s bake sale.

This episode had me shaking in my horse dealies with entertainment! Goosebump the whole time

Anyone else notice it felt like there was some Virtual Springfield references in the opening when Marge goes thru Bart's shorts? Maybe I'm just crazy.

Skinner's guidance couselor "screw you audience gag" along with the Martin hanging himself gag took me back ten years. The Shading when Bart was in Jimbo's house was great for the mood. No rollercoaster or shark tank? haha. Ralph halariously tossed in the mix. "Hey it's that bar I like" instead of Moes. Bart fighting Nelson. Martin as the traitor. I was just blown away by this one.

I would probably think even more of the episode if I had ever seen an episode of 24. Considering I didn’t, yet laughed out loud several times is a testament to what a strong episode it was.

    +2 wow animation
-1 “I’m unclear on what you want” - awkwardly delivered line
    -1 “Stinkfield” - lame joke
-1 dolf’s voice seemed off to me
+1 Homer slamming the lid on Millhouse’s head
    +1 Martin’s (spoiler) retribution
+1 Marge picking up the cake after dropping it
    +1 Moe and the drill
+2 I laughed out loud at lease once during each act. That hasn’t happened in a while.
+100 Marge putting Helen in traction

Probably the only other solid episode besides "Marge Gamer" I'd give this season. As usual, it looks like the writers had a lotta fun making this and it showed. Anywho, lots of good jokes and it had an overall great dynamic of joke and story.

GRADE: A- (just behind Marge Gamer)

Did anyone think this was going to be the second of the two episodes tonight?

EDIT: Just saw "Family Portrait" and can't believe it's been 20 years....to be 12yrs old again.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

Jeeezzz.. I always seem to have an opposite opinion than this board. I thought it was 2/5.. sure, it was stylistic, but I think 24 kind of sucks anyway. I thought it really made fun of 24 anyway, especially with the conclusion. I think I laughed out loud once.

What?!?! There is no way. Yeah the SP episode was hilarious but the whole HIllary vag bomb was kinda lame.

This episode was amazing. The animation was great and the jokes very good.
Loved the "suicide" of Martin, that was hilarious.

WAIT A MINUTE.... SIMPSONS MOVIE TRAILER! AW CRAP. IT WAS SHORT

pretty good. It had its lame moments but all in all it was a pretty good episode.

I'm watching The Kent Brockman episode, so more later.

4/5. Second best of the season.

great episode...not quite classic material, but a lot of fun! it actually had a better storyline than the current season of 24.

    More later.
she didnt exactly read shrek the 3rd, which apparently exists as some sort of companion book for a pixar movie. no, this would probably take several minutes (perhaps 10), and would have ultimately depricated the shrek 3 cinematic experience

she merely looked at the book

she saw it, perhaps in the childrens section of a barnes & noble, registered it in her mind as being in existance, and filed it away for later as the subject for a post on BOOKS YOUVE READ. only she just looked at it. and it was shrek 3

in a way its the saddest post ive ever read

9/10 Awesome episode. Incredibly solid, funny, well-written; the show still has something left in the tank. That's for sure.

Pretty good but I'd say the South Park episode was better. I wish there was more Chloe.

I thought that was the beginning of the episode (substituted in for the regular opening).

I liked this episode. In particular, the animation was outstanding. The plot was interesting and I liked how it made fun of 24. It was better than the show it parodied. There were a number of great jokes, but there was something missing. A-

Amazing, epic, whatever other awesome word you want to call it.

Not a single moment I hated, everything was golden, etc etc, having a hard time thinking of anything specific... because it was all so great. Woow. That was so good. Way better than the SP episode. Not a fan of 24 but god, this is the way a parody is supposed to go - entertaining to those who don't even fully get it.

    5/5. Definite 5/5.
