So can anyone confirm this supposed June 12th release date with an actual source OTHER than Wikipedia? We all know that anyone can put random stuff on there, and it doesn't have a source listed, so needless to say, I'm very skeptical.

^Personally, I wouldn't trust that date.
she didnt exactly read shrek the 3rd, which apparently exists as some sort of companion book for a pixar movie. no, this would probably take several minutes (perhaps 10), and would have ultimately depricated the shrek 3 cinematic experience
she merely looked at the book
she saw it, perhaps in the childrens section of a barnes & noble, registered it in her mind as being in existance, and filed it away for later as the subject for a post on BOOKS YOUVE READ. only she just looked at it. and it was shrek 3
in a way its the saddest post ive ever read
-toxic shock syndrome
I've thought that all along. Don't know about the June 12th date. Someone I know told me June 26th and he's usually pretty close.Originally Posted by MattG_Fan

I won't buy this thing until it goes for cheap, like earlier seasons do now. The season itself is not very good, IMO. Too many crazy plots and general whackiness with no true substance for me. Plus, the show gets a lot less intelligent, expertly conceived and the writing turns juvenile (especially Homer), unimaginative, goofy and hackneyed. I don't know, you're allowed to like it and all but for me it's a hollow show compared to seasons 2-8 at this point. I blame the loss of some great writers during seasons 8 and 9 as to why the show lost steam.
Plus, the old writers who have returned/remained have seemed unable to regain all that spark. It's possible that by the late 90s, a sense of complacency set in and the writing wasn't done by as many young, hungry up n' comers. The Simpsons became established and the need for creative wizardry became obsolete. It's ok if this were some other show, but seeing what the Simpsons had been kind of spoils the humour for me just a tad. Still, Scully-era is simultaneously the most zany and risque and one of the most kid-friendly eras.
Ah well, Season 9 shows some flaws too. I realized this when there were episodes that didn't make me laugh and some (Trash of the Titans) that made me wince-my god, the first full-episode depiction of "Jerkass" Homer IMO. He was nearly an abusive sociopath in that one! And personally, Homer's a lot more funny when his idiocy and jerkiness causes issues and he doesn't seem to notice or try to make it that way. When Homer is actively being a jerk and overriding people's concerns it grates on me.
S8 had some yawner moments but it was nothing due to the general quality overshadowing the problems. There are some gems, yet it's a consistently mediocre season but it gets even worse from here on I think. I'm not exactly a minor Simpsons fan, but even I have my limits. I'm not a completist either. I'd sooner buy season 1 and 2 on DVD which I still intend to do. Most of the posters want it for completist reasons, others to gawk at the trash and others because they genuinely enjoy S10. One day I'll check it out. Do they put these things for rent at Blockbuster either?
Quote of the week:
"Now, tell me where you're all from."
"Rrrussia!"
Texan guy: "Texas!"
Other Texan guy: "Uuuhh... Brooklyn!"
"New Hampshah!"
"Homer!"
Some people here are really psycopath likes the CBG and other I&S (or comics) fans in the show...
"I wait promo because.......... blablablabla..... Can we rent it?" All these words... your speech can take just a sentence or two but 21lines... and you find some episode boring?? haha
Prout !!
Shut up.

I have a feeling this DVD will sell really well as it is being released so close to the movie and the 400th episode, and sales were already going to be boosted just by the fact that it's Bart's head on the cover.

Does anyone go to TVShowsonDVD? I like that sight, but am frustrated that there no place for forums like this.
I think Wikipedia is usually right, but there has been misinformation too often.
I'm changing my release date guess to July 17.

We still haven't received word of this DVD set, but based on previous releases, we're looking at a July release at the earliest.
I'm predicting July 24 in the US, 3 days before the movie. Or August 14, based on the releases of seasons 6 and 8.
The french release date has been announced over a month ago, it's supposed to hit the shelves on July 18th here. I think that's the first time we got a french release date before the american one.
That's a bit weird cause if this date is correct and if there's the same delay between the american and the french release as usual (between 3 and 4 months) that would mean that it should already be out over there by now.
Yes i have already said it on page 5, i agree this date is a bit weird but time will tell... Fox maybe want a world release for the 10th season to go with the movie.
We certainly have news soon for the US date. For the 9th season, tvshowsondvd have been talk about the december release date at the end of september.

For the previous two years, the announcement was made on the 10th (or so) of May, so I'm expecting this will be no different and there will be an August release. It's not like this DVD is going to be that great anyway.![]()

Can't wait for this boxed set, one of my favorite of the "post classic" era.
Fox France pushed back the release date to August 8th. It will probably be around the same time for the american release as they want to take the advantage of the movie release to promote the DVDs.
When is it released?

I have 1-9 and I have already watched the crap out of them, I need more.

I think it'll get released the same time as last year, because even if it were to be released around the time of the movie or shortly thereafter, we would have to hear about it in the next week.
I think a May 10 release is impossible. It's already the middle of April - we would have heard something long ago if it was to come out in May.Originally Posted by hobojoejunkpan
