They've been posted in the Season 9 thread, I'd stop buying them if Fox ever released a set with art that awful.

I already have the head edition of Homer, Lisa, Marge and Maggie so I'll have to have Bart head edition to complete the set.

BTW the Alternate box set for Bart looks pretty good.

    got another one today.

they're from some fansite i saw a while back who was selling the eps as a vcd and encouraging the use of these images.

It looks like the teen in the window is the bit where the opening hole is. Nice set .

    i like the art.
for some reason, i think that it looks a little bit like a movie studio? with the entrance and the buggy looking thing that it looks like bart's driving.

I don't like the standard box art that much, but the head box is pretty nice looking. That's the one I'll be buying.

never really been too keen on the head box sets before, i thought they were a bit too tricky and pointless, so, since they started releasing the head boxes, i buy the normal boxes because i prefer them. but the season 10 one may turn things around.

heres a link to a page with lots of important information about what will be on each disk, easter eggs, deleted scenes etc.

I agree. The collector's edition just doesn't fit on a shelf properly. It is too clunky and awkward. And don't tell me that it will be worth more in the future. Cos there are so many of them, it just isn't worth it. I prefer the normal box design too. And season 10 will be no different.

^exactly. they say that they're limited edition, but just last week i saw a season 6 head box in HMV. so what, was the limit 700 million copies or something? the thing i dont really like is that its pretty hard to open and then close, because you have to get that fragile peice of plastic off and then back on the case again. i would prefer a tin box or something. i would definetly buy that.

i know you're in the uk, but because the alternate box was never released in america (or has it by now?), perhaps the production of the homer heads is far greater than the others and as such, shipments may still be supplied to other countries.

I looked at this link and saw nothing special. Just the usual deleted scenes and commercials. But there are going to be commentaries on every episode? Please say there is, otherwise I will be Very disapointed.

I bet that the theme will be inside the fox studio, possibly in the writers room, cause the standered box looks like a studio, and ruperts head is on the spine, and its a line from matt groening

Excellent catch. I will agree with that. The line from Matt Groening was the clincher!

Looks great, not the best design, but still nice.

Poochied-d, I see what you mean by the Studio theme. The vehicle Bart is driving looks like one of the bugeys that they often have in movie studios.

oo, i didn't catch that, it does look like a golf cart, and in commentaries, thats what they mention driving around the studio in, u know, id bet my collage fund, ($40) that that is the theme.

I think it may be the Krustylu or Channel 6 studio (i think they are both the same thing, aren't they?) and I did notice the squeaky voice teen being the "peep-hole" we usually get. All in all this box does seem to be great looking.

I've refrained from posting in this thread, basically since I don't think this season is worth the money. Season 9 was bad enough; I can't imagine how horrible 10 could be. And yes, I've already seen a few of its episodes, and I absolutely despised them.

Anyway, I'm just here to say that the box does look fantastic and perhaps, after the price decreases I'll get this just because that gold cover would look so good on my shelf.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, this season may not be the best, but if you have only seen a few, you shouldn't judge the entire season. Your one of my favorite members, and you can say you don't think this season based on what you have seen of it is worth the money, but you cant just say its shit.

  28. #328

I'm basing that off of a lot actually. First is the fact that I have seen 'Bart the Mother', 'Treehouse of Horror IX', 'Homer to the Max', 'Mom and Pop Art', 'The Old Man and the 'C' Student', 'Monty Can't Buy Me Love' and 'Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo', and I can honestly say none were very good at all, and I can only assume from there that the rest are of similar quality. My second point is that it is generally agreed that season 10 is horrible (along with 11 and 12), while season 9 was decent. I thought season 9 was very weak, and it is the only season I don't find myself returning to. If buying season 9 is almost a regret then I can only imagine that season 10, which I doubt anyone prefers to 9, must be a far more regrettable purchase. I do assume you're taking your statement about my claiming it's shit from my 'I can't imagine how horrible 10 could be'. Fair enough, but I think the statement is justified, as I do have reason to believe 10 pales in comparison to a season I already find to be quite bad.

  29. #329

Awesome box cover, probably the nicest looking so far. Definitely can't wait for the release.

Wasn't the one where Homer starts inventing shit, because he considers himself a failure pretty good? I've just come to realize i haven't seen many of these episodes in the longest of time...

I remember When You Dish Upon a Star, Viva Ned Flanders, Sunday, Cruddy Sunday, I'm With Cupid, Marge Simpson in: "Screaming Yellow Honkers", Monty Can't Buy Me Love, Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo all being really crummy episodes.

That's a lot of BAD already, so what from this season is GOOD? Are John Swartzwelder's episodes atleast good, whichever ones they may be?

The only reason why i would want to buy these boxsets is for the audio commentaries. Just so I can hear what the writers, and scully have to say for themselves, but judging by S9 commentaries, they're just laughing it up, even through the worst jokes imaginable, so i assume there's going to be a lot of fake laughter on the season 10 as well...
