Me too, I think it might be something to do with Springfield Elementary. You know why?

"A Line From Matt Groening" maybe that's a clue, to do with Bart always writing lines on the blackboard. I don't know, maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong.

    Did anyone else think this?
Now that you mention it, that does make sense since the school and Bart go together so well. Plus, with a school theme, the booklet with the DVD information could be a yearbook

Ditto. It would work very well in my opinion.

Yep, that would be a good idea for the booklet. El Barto scrawled on the back of the booklet would be fun. And the booklet to be in a really tattered design, to reflect some of the books shown in the school lol

Let's hope we get some indication of what it'll look like overall sometime soon. What's the usual delay time between the release of the design for the 'Head' box and then for the 'Regular' box?

    "A line from Matt Groening"

Possibly a theater production theme? In a play, actors have "lines"

Extras sound pretty good and hopefully the commentaries will be an improvement. I'm pretty sure we will get commentaries on all episodes. UK date will be early October, for sure.

As for packaging themes, how about a "Sports" theme with each family member in a sports backdrop?

I'll admit to wanting to purchase them all because in the rough there were true gems, and yes I do enjoy the special features ,commentaries and animation in general, But after reading this topic over I am starting to question my own thoughts more and more..hmmm well shall we put it to a vote..should I buy season 10 lol

Usually it is not more than a couple of days between designs if not the same day.
Notoriety for whatever reason, never seems to benefit the noted, only the 'notees'

In my opinion, this season is nowhere near as bad a people say. Sure, the plots were overy wacky and it felt a bit like a saturday morning cartoon, but it was still funny. Funnier than some of the recent seasons, at least.

The Simpsons have always been funny...just some seasons funnier than others. I suppose it depends on what you personally find funny, and perhaps that is why the most recent set of seasons has received so much hate. I personally enjoy all Simpsons seasons, but I still do find some episodes to have some questionable humor. Like every show, there is always something to dislike every once and awhile about it, and The Simpsons is no different.

Anyone know when the cover art will come out?

  21. #291

Yea I'm rather suprised it hasn't been released yet. Considering that cover art for tv show dvds that are released in September have been out for awhile now. I assume that the season 10 art will be out in the next week.

thanks for the heads up, henrik

does anybody think my mockup looked better? i cheated the "bart has 9 spikes" rule by omitting 1, but 7 spikes is way noticable and for official merchandise to be drawing bart incorrectly, that's pretty poor.

i also think the 'slightly side-on' look seen on maggie and lisa is much nicer. groening himself says the characters look strange when they look directly front on.

Yeah, I thought so too when I first saw it.

  25. #295

I like the look of it, though I won't be buying it.

Anyone have any idea when the alternate box design will be announced?

Again, just going off of what they've done in previous DVD releases, it is usually just a few days after the head design that we see the alternate box art design. Also, based on when they announced it I guessed it would show up the first part of June, but since they have the head design already it could come anytime in the next week.

Everyone just remember that there is no schedule for when they release the artwork, so just live with the fact that it could be next week, or the week after. Or they could even break routine and wait until the end of July to release it. I don't know, I'm just using past experience to made a good guess.

Aww, they used gold for season ten? Those bastards! It was supposed to be saved for the final season.
she didnt exactly read shrek the 3rd, which apparently exists as some sort of companion book for a pixar movie. no, this would probably take several minutes (perhaps 10), and would have ultimately depricated the shrek 3 cinematic experience

she merely looked at the book

she saw it, perhaps in the childrens section of a barnes & noble, registered it in her mind as being in existance, and filed it away for later as the subject for a post on BOOKS YOUVE READ. only she just looked at it. and it was shrek 3

in a way its the saddest post ive ever read
