Wow, I had no idea this episode was so well liked. I thought it was really just... okay at best. Not a big fan of the song, but I guess it was cool that they got Michael Jackson to guest voice (RIP, btw). Eh... 3/5, I guess. I just didn't think it was that funny or touching.

A fine episode. Michael Jackson seemed to be a good sport, and the storylines come together nicely in the end. The Mental institution had many of the episodes best lines.

    Best Quotes:

Homer: Lisa, you like homework, could you fill out this form for me?
Lisa: Well, alright, if you listen to the poem I just wrote.
    Homer: D'oh!..OK.
Lisa: Meditations on turning 8 by Lisa Simpson.
I had a cat named Snowball.
    She died. She died.
    Mom said she was sleeping.
    She lied. She lied.
Why, oh why, is my cat dead?
Couldn't that Chrysler hit me instead?
    (..)
I had a hamster named Snuffy.
    He died-
    Homer: No deal.

TV host: Ruff, anybody order a hotdog?

Bart: Hey Dad, do you hear voices?
Homer: Yes, I'm hearing one right now, while I'm trying to watch TV!
Bart: Yes. Are you quick to anger?
Homer: Bart! Shut up or I'll shut you up!
Bart: Yes. Do you wet your pants? Well even the best of us have an occasional accident
    (...)
    Homer: So did I pass?
    Mr. Burns: Hahaha..no
Smithers: Careful, men. He wets his pants.

MJ: Hi, I'm Michael Jackson, from The Jacksons.
Homer: I'm Homer Simpson, from The Simpsons.

MJ: We call this guy Chief. He's been here since 1968. Never says a word, never moves a muscle.
    Homer: Hey, Chief.
    Chief: Hello.
    (doctors surround him in shock)
Chief: Well, it's about time someone reached out to me.

    MJ: I'm Michael Jackson.
Bart: The Michael Jackson? Phhhh, no way.
MJ: It's true. I'm with your father in a mental institution.
Bart: Uh huh, and is Elvis with you?
MJ: Could be, it's a big hospital.

Marge: I told you kids, you were going to send your father to the Crazy House.
Bart: No, Mom, you said Poor House.
    Marge: I said Crazy House!
    Bart: Poor House.
    Marge: Crazy House!
    Bart: Poor House
    Marge: CRAZY HOUSE!

Homer: Now make sure we have plenty of cold cuts and put some beer on ice-
MJ: Um, Homer, I'm a vegetarian and i don't drink.
Homer: Are you sure you're here voluntarily?

Bart: Lisa! Her teeth are big and green!
    Lisa! She smells like gasoline!

Highlights include Bart "watching" Maggie (I tried to stop her, but she overpowered me), the Home video show (Dog on Fire! Dog on Fire!), the numerous One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest references, Bart imagining Homer's lobotomy, Patsy Cline's "Crazy" as hold music, Homer hassling the agoraphobe (pfffff, baby), the cute Happy birthday Lisa song, and Michael Jacksons amusing guest appearance.

Not a favorite. It has some pretty good moments, but for some reason I just don't like it overall. Plus the end song always bugged me.

does anyone remember the thread that was made for michael jackson after he died?

there was a member who went off on a tangent about how stupid people were for thinking it was really michael jackson (if it was him why not credit himself) and i remember it being a fun thread. for the life of me i can't remember who made the thread or the name.

I like how a "RIP Michael Jackson" thread turned into that.

Best stuff I've read in a while.
