I'm With Cupid - Best Season 10 Episode?

I watched this the other night and was plesantly surprised by it, as it's one of my least seen episodes (Probably only seen it like 4/5 times since it's aired). The first thing which struck me was that the characterization was spot on i thought, and although a tad aggressive over the Apu situation, Homer was brilliant throughout the episode.

Elton John's appearence wasn't amazing, but weren't terrible either, and i think the plot was wrapped up nicely and was overall a great episode.

One of Season 10's finest 21 minutes.

I haven't seen it for years, but from what I remember, it was OK. Elton John was pretty stupid, but Apu's acts for Manjula were fun to watch and it was nice to see Homer and Marge do something other than argue in a relationship episode for once. 3/5 C+

Very good episode with a nice ending. The scene with Apu & Elton John at the end was a little dumb. I enjoyed the sequence where the guys are following Apu around. Wasn't this the first appearance of Fantastic Dan?

This is one of the better ones I suppose, but it's not really all that great. The best thing it has going for it is that is that it's fairly funny while not wrecking the characters too much. Beyond that, though, Manjula is just too bland a character for the main story to be interesting, and the subplot reeks of Captain Wacky. Definitely not the best of season ten, even if it's fairly high on the list given the competition.

I can see how this episode is hit or miss but I personally really liked it. Its great seeing Homer interact so much with many of Springfield's other guys like Skinner, Moe, Wiggum etc. I wish they'd do more together.

It was great for Apu because it showed just how different he really is from everyone else despite everything. It was also a great opportunity to see some characters we rarely see, like Sarah. The guys were a bit too inconsiderate to the point it was a bit over the top..but in general I had a lot of fun with this episode. Apu's scene with Elton John I thought was hilarious.

Actually, I liked it quite a bit. One of my character flaws is that I can be a bit of a homophobe at times, so I saw Elton John's appearance as something of a turn-off. He wasn't even that funny anyway - his cameo may not have been as shameless as the ones in 'When You Dish Upon A Star', but still...the ending is nice, if a little sappy. However, the episode doesn't really add a dimension to Homer and Marge's marriage, as Homer has been uncaring towards his wife before. Nevertheless, the first act was pretty good, as it does add a new dimension (Apu and Manjula's marriage). The second act drifted a bit, but was still enjoyable enough to hold my interest. The third act sees us descend into Mike Scully territory again, but it isn't bad enough for me to consider awful, just bizarre. After much thought, I have decided to give this episode a B+. One of Season 10's best episodes (I know this is not saying that much, but still...).

I think I'm With Cupid is the best season 10 episode, with Mom & Pop Art being its only real competition. (However, I've yet to see Lisa Gets an A, which I'm told is very good.)

I must be the only one who liked the Elton John appearance - any episode with Apu calling Elton John a bitch is okay in my book. And I think the ending, with all of the women in Springfield deluding themselves into believing that the skywriting was meant for them, is cute without being too cute. (Plus, I'll always love that Wiggum's pet name for Sara is Pop n' Fresh.)

Umm, this we don't know where this story is going, let's throw in Elton John. The only funny bits with Elton came courtesy of Apu: "Someone saved your life tonight...Oh, the bitch is back!"

Just saw it in full (yeah, when I posted above I'd only seen like the first ten minutes). It was actually pretty decent; I still stand by "Manjula means some kind of spaceship" being the highlight quote of the episode. Elton John's appearance was also fairly contained; I liked the fact that he was still in the episode after the main scene at the airport (unlike some other episodes of this time where the guest star basically says who they are before disappearing).
