R&R: It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge

    1/5. This is utterly horrible.

The ending leaves so much to be desired; what happens to Becky? Is she sent to prison for attempted murder, or does she say goodbye to the Simpsons and vanish from their lives? And, for that matter, what about Marge? Is she cleared of being insane or not? And if not, does Homer come up with an ONG WACKY PLOT to rescue her...next week, on an all-new Simpsons!

2/5. Would be 3/5 if not for the sudden, lame ending.
Bart: "Please don't call our parents!"
Chief: "I'm afraid I have to for hijinks like these. Hijinks - it's a funny word. Three dotted letters in a row."
    Eddie: "Is it hyphenated?"
Chief: "It used to be, back in the good old days, you know. Of course, every generation hyphenates the way it wants to. Then there's *NSYNC! What the hell is that? Jump in any time there, Eddie, these are good topics."

Awful episode. "This plot made no sense!" 2/5 E

This episode was bad even for the 11th year. I found Marge's characterization to be quite annoying, and Becky's passive aggressive attitude didn't strike me as funny either. Between Marge, Becky, and the rest of the cast who are too stupid to realize what's bugging Marge, there are no likable characters in this episode. Throw in a lame conclusion, some gratuitous jokes about Homer being caused pain (stabbing his fingers and losing his tongue), and you've got one of the worst episodes of the season. 1/5

Yep. It's not funny and it's so sitcomish and unclever. One of the worst ever. D-

Yeah, Mira hit the nail on the head. The first act was decent. Alot of funny jokes and a good, believable way that Becky and Otto met. After that, it goes down the shitter. D-

it's a terrible episode save for 2 parts:
"now let's bring out the mad marge dancers" and "now marge, this 'god', is he in this room right now?"

It's pretty bad, but it's better than that horrendous "Simpson Tall Tales," which I gave a 2/5. So 2.5/5, rounded to a 3.
    I was saying "Boo-urns."

It has an awful Marge characterisation and the plot goes down the shitter but I think there's quite a lot of funny hidden in there. Not enough to make it decent but there's some good jokes buried in the mess

Trash. Not even worth watching in my eyes. I remember laughing maybe once or twice, but the rest of it was just repulsive. 1/5

I just watched it and it didn't strike me as horrible or repulsive. Just very average. The thing that bothered me the most was Bart trying to smash Homer with the car. That's some sinister shit that doesn't belong in The Simpsons.

It starts off great, being very funny as well. But the messed-up plot ruined it and brought it down a grade.

Meh, I don't rewatch this one frequently so I believe that I'm somewhat disliking it

Actually, I remember that I've quite enjoyed it the first time I saw it, but now I can't rewatch it without skipping at least some parts, because it has a bunch of quite silly scenes: Homer the jerkass stupidly playing with a knife and his fingers, or with his wife's car, Marge being responsible for the cancelling of the wedding ceremony (what a stupid plot), trying to be nice with Becky when she's sad to be jealous of her afterwards, trying to hurt her in the restaurant.

But as Veryjammy said, it also has quite a lot of "hidden" good stuff (the kids playing with the camcorders, Otto's parents, the hilarious lines from Patty & Selma, Bart with Skinner while he's taking a wizz, Homer trying to hide the fact that he took some cake, his face when his head is falling into the ice cream dessert, Dr. Foster's appeareance, Marge joining the mental asylum parade to escape from the police, Ralph's quote - I don't have it in English - and some elements of that wacky ending scene.

After rewatch, as this episode has both good and bad elements, and despite of a strange ending which doesn't tell us what happened to Otto, Becky or Marge, "Its a Mad, Mad, Mad Marge" deserves an average note of C/C-, or 3/5.
    My personal seasons' rankings (best to worst): 06 > 04 > 03 > 07 > 05 > 09 > 08 > 16 > 15 > 02 > 14 > 13 > 01 > 10 > 11 > 12

Which Simpsons character would I be if I was a Simpsons character?
According to the quiz on the NHC, I would be...
