Good morning! And in case I don't see ya: Good afternoon, good evening and goodnight!- - -
D. The incoherent plot hardly makes up for the lack of *actual* funny moments. I'd actually completely shut this one out of my mind until now - Beyond Blunderdome, all is forgiven!

outside the Simpson estate. Remember, by the way, to
tune in at 8:00 for highlights of today's vigil, including
when the garbage man came, and when Marge Simpson
put the cat out...possibly because it was harassed, we don't know.
[2F06] 'Homer Bad Man'
I give it a C+. Pretty good for the "worst episode ever."
P.S. I voted wrong in the poll in case anyone notices that.
Choke on your lies!!!
An F.
Plus one point for a Logan's Run reference.
Minus 100 points for attempting to perpetuate and legitimize Kid Rock's stardom.

The bit with Kid Rock is shit, as is the plot point with the train, but it has some great jokes.
Alright, who voted A+?
Me: C-. 1st act is superb, then down the slope. Like most Scully episodes.
A response to the YouTube video, 'Family Guy Steals From The Simpsons' - Funniest thing I've ever read.
If you guys didn't notice, Family Guy was produced by the same person that made the Simpsons.
You can't steal from yourself, therefore, Family Guy can't steal from the Simpsons
I liked season eleven a lot. But I have to admit that this episode is not the best episode to ever air. Disjointed, and really seems like it's trying too hard. I suspect there was something big going on when this episode was made. It's the only explanation for why it came out the way it did; especially since it's a Swartzwelder script. I was baffled.
I think it's pathetic that you all hate it. It's honestly not as bad as some other episodes..

'no listening... you hear me?' never fails to bring the LOL but other than that, a pretty mediocre episode

I can't remember what I voted for this poll but I'd bet it was and A+, because I really do love this episode. It was one of my favorites as a kid, and there's so many moments from it I love.
-The whole quizmaster thing.
-The 'get 'em off the window!' line from marge.
-Homer's superfast turn around to being being ready to party.
-The whole idea of the sheriff being paid during springbreak to take a 'boys will be boys' approach.
-The college students becoming serious once springbreak was over
-Homer trying to knock out the lady from the diner
-the simpsons becoming hicks(I'm not paying for two weddins)
I llike this episode a lot
I will not rest until I am a writer for the Simpsons Movie 2.
I think it's pathetic that you hate 'Homer's Enemy', not that I'm trying to start an argument or anything, I'm just emphasizing the pointlessness of calling people pathetic for having different opinions.Originally Posted by starman-the-iconoclast
It was definitely not in The Simpsons usual style, though there have been more of those crazy disjointed adventures after and before ("EEIEI (D'oh)" anyone?), but I think some of the slapstick comedy worked and also a few dialogues, like the very ending. The plot is pretty weak and wacky but I think there must be at least eight plots that make less sense in the history of the show. There were some terrible moments (Homer with the plastic baby, Kid Rock cameo) but the rest was bearable and funny to some extent, if it's not definitely what I'd expect from The Simpsons. So probably 2,5/5 or something like that.
Some episodes I find worse or at least as bas as this one would include Monty Can't Buy Me Love, HOMR, Saddlesore Gallactica, Hello Gutter Hello Fadder, It's a Mad Mad Mad Marge, probably Screaming Yellow Honkers (at least the third act I remember it as some of the worst stuff ever), The Frying Game, probably Viva Ned Flanders, Mansion Family, The Blunder Years, When You Dish Upon A Star...It hardly stands out as SO bad.
This is the one with Kid Rock, right? Yeah, this was all over the place. It had a few good jokes though. But overall, it was mediocre.

Agreed. I think it's a pretty crap episode though. Not the worst but definitely crappy.Originally Posted by TheForbiddenDonut

Weren't you listening? I never said it wasn't OK to hate this episode, but the fact that all of you do..is just surprising when I think there's other episodes that are far worse. So yes, it's just a matter of opinion.Originally Posted by TheForbiddenDonut

I was hardly calling anyone pathetic, just the fact that this episode is hated so much, when there's episodes that are far worse that aren't getting noticed..
You said that the fact that most people hate it is pathetic. If most of those people didn't have that same opinion, then from your POV, nothing would have been pathetic. Therefore, you're definitely speaking negatively about the opinions of those people that contribute to making that fact, that most people hate this episode, true. It would have been far more reasonable to have just said that the overwhelming hatred the episode receives surprised you.
And no, I wasn't listening, but I was reading.
My mistake.
I'll give it a D-
I really like when the 'cool hand luke' style prison guard says "No listening, you hear?" And Homer says "uhh...no?" You just don't learn, do ya.

I saw this one yesterday for the 2nd time ever (the first being when it premiered,) and I don't remember it being so...bad.
The plot was all over the place. It could've worked as an hour-long show, if it were also better written of course. Homer was such an unlikeable asshat in this episode. Half the time, he seemed almost possessed, and the family is just there to apathetically respond to his crazyness.
The funniest part of the episode was the woman at the diner. I like that.
And it's a sad day when the most memorable line is Kid Rock's "let's waste this beyotch!"
Dramatization: May not have happened.
Bad episode but not terrible don't see why it is as hated as it is.1.5/5
i gave it a C-. The story is not good but not really horrible imo. Some gags are good and in the end this episode isn't so bad for me.
Easily the most hated episode in the entire history of the show. I can understand why, but I don't agree. Forget the crazy, all-over-the-place plot for a second, because this episode is saved by some decent humour, which is more than I can say for some other episodes that deserve to be crowned the worst of all time. If an episode has lots of wonderful, hilarious, and most important of all, "clever" humour, then nothing else really matters all that much (except if a beloved character is killed by t-shirts, and has her coffin covered with corporate logo stickers, as cheerleaders fire a "t-shirt salute").
C
episode was weak, gave it a D for it Did have a few good jokes.
the episode title is a good sing of how bad this episode is.
This episode had humor? :-O :-O :-OOriginally Posted by Starman
The "I like that" jokes are the only parts that are remotely humourous in this episode. The whole thing is just a terrible terrible mess. 1/5
Yeah. Homer doing quizzes at 3 am made me laugh. "...I like that" lady made me laugh too. And the final scene where they crossed yet another state off the list, and furthered the "Where's Springfield?" phenomenon not only made me laugh, but it assured me that this is definitely not the worst episode ever made.Originally Posted by TheForbiddenDonut
Okay, why do so many people like the 'I like that' lady. She just said the same thing over and over again. It was so unbelievably absolutely positively predictable that she'd say it again at a moment that would be inappropriate for her to say it. And not to mention Tress MacNeille's Southern voice (just like so many of her voices) are so grating to listen to.
