In the episode where Mrs Krabapple is nominated by Bart for teacher of the year, what is the significance of having the ceremony set in Orlando?
I mean, why Orlando??

So they could make fun of Epcot?
Yeah, they did that...any other reasons?
Yeah, I guess it's not like a junket opportunity for the producers or anything!
What kind of reputation does Orlando have within America, does anyone know?

Orlando is the place where loads of theme parks are, and that is what it is famous for.
It was set in Orlando because that is where Epcot is, and they wanted to make fun of it. That's the only significance of having it there. Don't look too much into this.

You could also say it is a logical reason for Agnes to accompany Skinner. Old people love Florida.
It was set here because there are alot of cheesy award shows and banquets going on down here all the time. It's a very popular tourist destination.
It was also an opportunity to show that the Simpsons were somehow unbanned from Florida.
They actually do have teaching awards held there, so it's completely relevant.
Signature.

That's right, it takes place after the whole alligator thing.
"I shouldn't have eaten that packet of powdered gravy I found in the parking lot..."
Orlando hey? Thanks everyone.

In fact, Disney used to have a teacher award's thing on the Disney channel.........

Interesting Curtis. Do you live anywhere near Saint Cloud?
Saint Cloud is about 30 minutes from Orlando. And like Curtis said, there is no other place I'd rather live.
I know someone from Saint Cloud.
Curtis, you anywhere near Saint Cloud?
