I think Homie The Clown is now one of my top five or ten episodes in terms of humor. I've seen it God knows how many times, and yet I didn't stop laughing throughout almost the entire thing when I watched it again just now. Too many hilarious jokes to count.

Agreed. I consider it one of the best gagfest episodes, with containing some of the best slapstick humour in the show (Krusty maliciously shocking Homer, Homer beating the hell of out the Hamburglar (no, that is not jerkass Homer you nitpickers), the sequence of Krusty and Homer's performance in the end). All of the scenes with Krusty and the Mafia are among their finest appearances, the scenes at clown college are pure gold, all secondary characters have good jokes and Homer has the perfect amount of buffoonery to work. This is how a "Homer gets a job and hilarity ensues" episode should be done.
It's a bit like having sex with a jellyfish: once might an interesting experiment, twice would be perversion!
after I told him my name, he beat seven shades out of me and left me in a dumpster with a bar of soap shoved in my mouth and a brush shoved in where the sun doesn't shine

I watched Kill the Alligator and Run for the first time, and I really do understand why it's the worst episode ever. However, I was noticing that there were some jokes that really were not that bad, but due to their context, they failed to amuse me. The key joke with Homer breaking his handcuffs was, at least from what I understood, a screw-the-audience joke and I really couldn't find a problem with it. But I realized that because I was so disgusted with what was going on and the events leading up to this joke and the way it developed the plot, I found it ultimately not funny. The same happened in the first act. I thought some of the jokes were pretty okay, but they would have been much funnier had they not had to do with Homer having a mid-life crisis.

I thought Kill the Aligator and Run was an Ok episode. Definately not the worst episode ever. I liked the plot. Very wacky Swartzweldian style. The aligator was pretty funny but the jokes could have used some finessing but i would rate it a D at the least.

I'm having this huge sense of deja vu reading this. Yes, it is true, this is an extremely sucky episode, which starts with another "Homer-having-a-crisis" bit (didn't they do this in several other eps), then a Spring Break riff with Jerkass Homer in full bloom, then, about ten minutes in, they kill the gator and this episode REALLY becomes fun! ;-/ The Simpsons go to jail! Who else could have figured it out? Who indeed, huh?

When I'm sitting through an entire episode of The Simpsons and barely cracking a smile, something is very, very wrong.

I also had this problem with "Bart To The Future". Did anyone else?

Bart To The Future is my least favorite episode. Ridiculously fucking terrible.

I have a question are other animated comedy fandoms such as Family Guy and Futurama as into the executive producer/showrunners as the Simpsons fandom is? Because I've rarely seen either fandom go that indepth into the production staff, but then again, I may not have delved deeply enough

    Rod & Todd Satanic?

Dont know if anyone has picked this up (I bet someone already has) but in the peewee football episode where Homer becomes coach, there is one scene where Rod and Todd are standing together. One is wearing a jersey with '66' on it and the other is wearing a jersey with '6' on it.

In the episode with Sherry Bobbins, that I can never spell, something really weird happens.

At one point, they're in the lounge watching TV, when someone (I think Marge) walks in. Maggie is sitting on the floor, when she stands up, naked, and runs really fast into the kitchen. It's easy to miss. Shes only wearing her blue thing, with her little baby bum showing. She turns right into the kitchen and doesn't come back.

Watch it, see if you notice.

Does anyone think it will be amusing to hear Matt G's excited and postive comments on Season 11 in the episode booklet and in the intro? Surley he can't be as excited as he is in the other Seasons...

I've actually noticed it every time I've watched it...it isn't really hard to miss since it cuts from Marge at Dr. Hibbert's to the Simpson's lounge, where it actually seems to slightly zoom out from Maggie running around...though I do find it amusing that Homer lets her run around with a bare bottom.

    ^It is amusing, really.

I was wondering, does anyone have any family members/teachers/coworkers that remind them of Simpsons characters?

I actually do have an Aunt Patty. She's not a lesbian or a twin, but she does smoke a lot, dispense advice to her younger sisters (it's plural, she comes from a big family), and hate men with a passion. She also likes to clip coupons, and goes on a lot of vacations. Every time Patty and Selma come on during The Simpsons, I find myself thinking of her.

Anyone else know any real life counterparts to Simpsons characters in their life? Or is it just me?

There was a guy in my class, I think he graduated valedictorian actually, who is EXACTLY like Martin. It's really awesome. He was such a braniac, and he even had a high pitched voice. Lol. He really liked the Simpsons too, I wonder if he noticed

I used to attend a comic book shop. The owner really resembled a Simpsons character. He was quite overweight, wore a ponytail and a beard, and was really picky about all the merchandise in his store. I think we all know who I'm talking about here.
