    Season 7 cost me £29.99 in HMV the day it came out (actually it cost me less because I had a voucher...). Anyway, yeah most the shops were selling it for about that, back in January...

    This isn't the place to say hello, do it in the city hall sub-forum.

    ^That's what I said, but we shouldn't moan, we've only had the previous 7 seasons and pretty much everything ever before them. Anyway, look at the positives, 5 days to go! I will be getting it on release, however I won't be seeing the episodes for a while. I'm limiting watching TV DVDs to 3 episodes a day, otherwise I watch them way too quickly and then I have nothing to watch. And since I splashed out on 2 seasons of Scrubs on Saturday, I'll have 47 episodes of that to watch first.

    We're getting Season 7 of Seinfeld before the US too

    Got mine the other day ,standard box with the finger artwork. Very nice set, some good commentaries and average deleted scenes. I'm onto disc 3 at the moment, but i got Scrubs S4 the same day so i'm alternating between the two at the moment

    I don't think anyone has posted this, but here's an actual list of the episodes with deleted scene easter eggs, courtesy of Wikipedia:

    * You Only Move Twice
    * The Twisted World of Marge Simpson
    * Mountain of Madness
    * The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show
    * The Old Man and the Lisa
    * Homer's Enemy

    ^Thanks for the list, Adam R, I'll be sure to check those out.
    It's going to be hard for me over the next month, though, seeing the S8 DVD in all those shops and hearing the UK discussion on the site. I just have to hold off until November, so I'll just watch episodes from Seasons 4-7 until then.

    Usually I get quite excited about the box sets and count down the days to release but this time it's sort of crept up on me. I looked on Play today and my sets were sent yesterday, I'd forgotten I even ordered them or that they were being released this week.

    Off topic, but:

    Can I ask, did your Scrubs DVD come with a little piece of paper that has the list of episodes, like the previous 3? Mine just has a booklet on Fox DVDs, a flyer about pirate DVDs and a flyer about Scrubs on ABC1, which is annoying, because I don't think it mentions the title of the episodes on the discs.

    Got my copy of season eight today. Got the 'Finger Discs' too. I didn't realise how many great episodes there are in season eight, can't wait to watch them. I'll have to finish season seven first mind.

    Also I agree that the next UK release should be January, like earlier this year with season seven.

    Items dispatched on 30 Sep 2006:
    Delivery estimate: 3 Oct 2006 - 4 Oct 2006
    1 package via Royal Mail
    • 1 of: The Simpsons - Season 8

    Hopefully they'll arrive monday, but it'll probably be Tuesday. Wooh-whatever.

    I take it you ordered from Amazon. They always take a while to dispatch items. Play are much quicker nowadays, my copy only took two days to arrive from Play.

    I saw this in Woolworths today - but it was behind the counter. If it had been out on display, I would've been sorely tempted.

    Play have been slower whenever I use them. Amazon dispatch as soon as they get the stock, which is usually a day or 2 before the release so I usually get stuff on release or the day after. And when ordering stuff that isn't pre-ordered, I usually get it 2 days after I order(because I order at night). Not slow.

    I ordered the LE Boxset (Maggie head) from Amazon, and mine hasn't dispatched yet :angry:

    Although that might be because there's a green Wing 2 in the order... And I'm a cheapskate and went for supersaver delivery...

    Got my Maggie head for £30 from FOPP today! Immediately, I noticed how thin it was compared to the others. Probably the best looking head. Can't wait to start on the episodes!

    I got mine today! I can't tell you how good it feels to finally have it and put it next to the others. So far I have seen all of disc one and what a solid disc! Finger discs btw...

    Also got mine today too, the Maggie head. Will watch it as soon as I've checked some more sites.

    I haven't actually read this thread yet apart from this page, so I don't know what the hell these 'finger discs' are, but I guess they're in the packaging or something like the Top Trumps card last time.

    Yes!

    I got the set yesterday and even though I haven't exhausted every commentary or special feature yet, I can tell that this DVD boxset is going to be great.

    I'm wondering if I could have bought the set before it came out on the 2nd though, as I work at a big entertainment distributor type place and you can buy their stock from the warehouse with a discount and before it comes out in shops!

    Oh well. I have it now, so I'm going to do what I always do and sit down every night and watch each disc all the way through with commentary.

    Thank goodness for The Simpsons.
