"There is pictures in ordering guide ? "
Yes, although most of the time it is not completed box art and looks completely different from the release.

^how long 'til August release guide?
she didnt exactly read shrek the 3rd, which apparently exists as some sort of companion book for a pixar movie. no, this would probably take several minutes (perhaps 10), and would have ultimately depricated the shrek 3 cinematic experience
she merely looked at the book
she saw it, perhaps in the childrens section of a barnes & noble, registered it in her mind as being in existance, and filed it away for later as the subject for a post on BOOKS YOUVE READ. only she just looked at it. and it was shrek 3
in a way its the saddest post ive ever read

Yeah...because if it's not in there we could really be screwed. If someone can get it to a scanner, it would be a good idea to post the pic (even though it'll probably just be promotional).

Great! Then we might be able to see what Lisa looks like... or it might possibly be released as maggie, but judging by the early photo we got its not happening. Also, is this DVD being released in both head and normal form? (I'm getting head!)Originally Posted by dzinndesign

Yeah, the Complete Guide was definitely published before as I remember getting it as a Christmas present in '97. That was the year practically every single Simpsons book made so far was released in the UK, coinciding with BBC One/Two airing the show from November 1996.
Mine's falling apart too, but I dunno if I need a whole new hardback of it. Unless they've finally corrected all the mistakes in it ("What's the difference between that lamb and the one that killed me?" etc)

Endut! Hoch Hech!
When I watch the Simpsons, I tune out everything else. If a madman was going to blow up the Earth, It woldn't matter to me if the Simpsons are on.

^Fantastic contribution to this DVD discussion
Most errors have been corrected in the newest publications of the book (e.g. Big Ol' Box). Info here and here for Simpsons Forever. And I was only considering getting it when there was supposidly new material. I won't be getting it now.Originally Posted by Billy

my copy is a first edition but it's missing the covers, i've been considering buying a new one for display purposes.
I'm pretty sure there were a few books before then...Originally Posted by Billy

Awful, probably
bart simpsons guide to life, the simpsons uncensored family album, the simpsons christmas book...all before 1993 at least. and theres a few more.

Yeah, but I'm talking about the UK. My Uncensored Family Album says:
'Published by HarperCollinsPublishers 1997
First published in the USA by HarperCollins Publishers Inc, 1991'
I think it says something similar on the Guide to Life and Rainy Day Fun Book, too.

i'm pretty sure my xmas book says it was published before 1997...just going to check
EDIT: It says it was published in 1991.
I was talking about the Australian onesand even then the US Guide to Life was from like 1990 or 1991 and the Aus one is 93/94

they might be putting more than 1 season on dvd at a time because we havent heard anything more months they havent even given us the month yet. its a possibility

No, I seriously doubt that. If it's going to be released in August then we'll hear about it in the next few days, just like last year.

It better be in August. I was so happy they seemed to be getting into a two-sets-a-year groove. I bet the movie's slowing things down.
I was thinking that too, there's sort of an unwritten 'three month rule'.Originally Posted by Binky

Well it isn't really "unwritten", in that Fox Home Entertainment posts their product shipping lists three months in advance towards the beginning of each month. They do that because it takes months to get from a just-finished product to mass production to shipping to actually going on store shelves.
Now a lot of other studios release details/art for their DVDs many more months in advance. Fox just seems to be slow in that area.

Sorry to get the thread off topic, but I bought my Big Ol' Box in the UK last year and it still had all the mistakes in it.Originally Posted by Adam R

^Really? My friend has it and most are changed, but they made one new one. With the changing order of A Fish Called Selma and The Day The Violence Died, for some reason, 22 Short Films About Springfield, a page later, has it's pages the wrong way around, so it reads 'About Springfield 22 Short Films'.

I think on the SNPP page it says that was in the first edition.Originally Posted by Adam R
I was referring to this error in the fourth version as the new one, not the page swap with A Fish Called Selma and The Day The Violence Died, I mentioned first. And lets try to stay on topic with the DVD now, this was only brought up because of a mistake.Originally Posted by snpp

so, we still dont know the realese date ? that sucks

According to others who have been paying more attention than I have to announcements of release dates, last year we received an announcement, I think on May 11th, of the August '05 release of Season 6, so if Season 8 will be out by the end of this August, we'll presumably know about it within a week or two.
I hope to God that it is released in early August!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know the reason the releases are so slow? I know theres probably financial reasons, such as the further apart the releases are the more they make off each one, but then why do so many other shows get great DVD sets, often with a lot more extras then the Simpsons, released only a couple of months, or sometimes weeks, apart? The Simpsons started being released to DVD what? Five years ago? And we're only at season 7.
Dont Get Up Gentlemen, I'm Only Passin' Through...
I think the reason it takes so long is because they do commenaries on all the episodes
