I agree but the only thing I didn't like about it was because it was just on a black screen

Did they ever mention which episodes they thought were weaker in the Season? In the Q&A both Bill and Josh said there were a few episodes they thought were weak, but they never named them. I suspected they wouldn't mention them in the commentaries so as not to criticise the guys who wrote the episodes, but did they give any indication at all?

(yes I'm a new member to the forums and I'm only hear to vent something but I'm sure you guys are great people blah blah blah )

Anyway, I live in Ontario, Canada. I went to Best Buy this morning to pick up my copy and the spine was half english/half french. So although I have no complaints with the content I'm pissed off that my Season 8 DVD does not match my other Seasons. I made a stupid mistake of opening and then realizing it doesn't line up, so I'm probably going to go back to the store in the next few days and either beg for a return or try to find an english spine.

Also, my discs have the various simpsons showing out numbers (eg Bart and Lisa do the peace sign for disc 2.) If that helps any of the discussion I read earlier.

Alright. Cool deal about the discs, sorry about the spine.

I hope the cast and crew see this.

Thanks for making a very good season, a very good box set. and very good comments.

I will pay for the free episodes as long as you will keep selling them.

    Thanks for working so hard.

Same here. I completely forgot about the quote, unquote Ultimate Belt.

Yeah, without seeing either of the O/W seasons (other than choice episodes here and there) beforehand, I like this season so much more than 7.

    Easter Egg

Disc one on the "You Only Move Twice" submenu, press left from Play Episode and it'll highlight the film projector, press enter and then it will show two quick deleted scenes involving Grandpa.

    Awesome Pedro.

And wow, I thought the discs might have been similar but those designs are completely different!

Maybe one version was supposed to be for the LE Maggie-shaped box, the other for the standard box, and they somehow managed to screw it up and put them in random boxes.

That's what I had assumed, I wonder if we'll ever find out which was which. My vote is that the fingers were meant to go with the head.

Ah, I'm proud of myself. I actually got a Simpsons DVD set on the day of release. It feels nice. There were only two left at Circuit City, on head and on box, so I got the head box since Fox screwed me with s.7 not being able to send away for the regular box. And, ya know, anal...so it's gotta match one way or the other. I was starting a Simps. DVD marathon though...so I'm gonna finish up re-watching s.2 (only 3 eps to go anyway) before I move on to s.8, but I can't wait.

Thanks, RCM. Yeah, I'm really wondering what the story with these is...

The non-fingers go more with the theme of posing for photos, but the fingers are kinda cool just for their own sake.

  16. #856

You know, whichever one turns out to be the rare one (if at all) will be worth a lot years from now. Assuming that one of them was just a mistake and Fox has stopped production of it.

Okay, I was hoping my dad might know where our digital camera is, but apparently it is lost, so not only can I not take a picture of disks, but I can't take an adorable picture of my cat either(see Lounge). Sorry I couldn't post any pictures.

Edit: My bad, RCM, already posted the pictures, all is well then.

Well just the random sampling so far suggests that the fingers might be more limited and thus those in the aborted production line. They might have been worried that people wouldn't get it, though in my opinion it's much harder to see some of the numbers.

Hm, I thought I only counted three saying they had non-fingers, and more than that saying fingers.

If I read it all correctly 3 people have the standard with fingers, 1 has the standard without fingers, 3 people have the head with without fingers (I'm in this one), and someone has fingers but I dunno which set they got. This all sounds like a really weird fast food order.

  21. #861

I bought the standard box from Best Buy and have the non-fingers disc art. Same with someone else I talked to who also got the standard box from Best Buy.

So I guess it would be something like this right now:
    Code:
      |Std. box|Head box|
    ---------------------
    F | 3| 3|
    ---------------------
    NF| 3| 0|
    ---------------------

  22. #862

From grissom's post, it sounded like he has head and no fingers.

    (*Really* weird fast food order.)

Don't forget everyone, that there is also a deleted scenes easter egg for The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show. I know this because it was mentioned on the BBFC classifications that George Cauldron posted earlier. My guess is that you access them in a similar way.

I hope I end up with the fingers discs, they look so much better. I'll be getting head and I'm really confused to which is apparently the most common one for that.

Nuts, I wish I picked this up, but I have to wait for my Visa tab to rollover to next month so I pay less which is today, so I can scoop this up and not feel bad.

Weird. I bought the Head Box and I got the "no-fingers" discs. But that's OK. I kinda like them better than the other style. It would be interesting to see what the results of a 4-option poll would be.

I have the standard box w/o the fingers, dunno if you want to count that or if you already did.

Off topic, but has anyone else noticed how thin this box is compared to the other heads? I'll post a picture later to show you what I mean.

I meant head box without fingers, not with. I got myself confused. My set has the near invisible numbers in the top left area. Jebus. Also counted someone for a wrong cat. so uh, yeah...RECALCULATE.

The Binky finglonger box should look like this now, I think:

    Code:
      |Std. box|Head box|
    ---------------------
    F | 3| 0|
    ---------------------
    NF| 4| 3|
    ---------------------

    Here's what I mean:

I just find it a little odd that this package is so much thinner, there's the exact same amount of stuff in both cases.

^The main anti-box people said that they didn't go well on the shelf. This is an obvious attempt to stop them from complaining about that.
