I thought this episode was okay, it had a good flow to it and was entertaining to watch.

And about the part where the kicker loses his leg and the fans begin to hoist it up like a trophy....im going to let you guys in on a little secret..its just a cartoon, that guys leg is actually ok.

It's a C+ for me, but I gave a B-. It's quite good, the ending made me laugh so hard.

Good points: Don Cheadle's performance, Aloha-moe, Lenny's pride that A&M was founded by a cow.

Bad points: What was up with The Dean?, I find the idea of Ralph being gassed pretty horrific, the nerds should've made a bigger come-back.

    B. It was good, but the leg flying off was bad, as was Lenny's "You're only calling us a cow college because we were founded by a cow!" followed by about 5 seconds of him just staring at Homer. Still, found it pretty funny at times

Same. I had to look back on what I had just watched via snpp. The college scenes were quite tacky, going back to see the nerds, although welcome like I said it felt tacky.

The episode was quite amusing in act 2 and 3, I liked how Bart's healing powers had to be confronted in the final act, I knwo they have recyled this story method in later episodes, but it was quite slickly done with care in this episode.

    B- (6/10)

    Season 11 had 'good' episodes?

Season 11 has the triple lutz of a shitty executive producer, shitty season and shitty dvd set, both in packaging and commentaries.

You can't make this stuff up.

Not the best example IMO .

About this episode, there wasn't anything considerably bad apart from that flying leg (which I find disgusting), but anyway it was pretty worthless and disappointing. I had great hopes for the premise, in fact Bart as a quack doctor could make a very good development, but in the end the storyline felt dull and lacked interest. Yes, it had some good jokes here and there, but it wasn't exactly what I would call a gagfest. Apart from that, Homer was slightly unbearable here, the ending was rushed and Testify didn't catch me. Not a bad episode at all according to season 11 standards but it was flawed and forgettable. 5.5/10

I did not like or injoy this episode since I first watched it because the overall plot was boring and the writting and the directing was also boring and lame, through out the entire episode I didn't laugh even once,I also don't enjoy Simpsons episodes that get religous.I'm giving Faith Off a D-.

I know this one is no traditional simpsons classic or anything as it's extremely outlandish and cartoony (and a lot darker than the show usually is imo) but i've always liked it a lot, I think Bart had great characterization throughout the whole episode, and though Homer was characterized terribly in most of his scenes. I also like it because I felt that, in spite of it's extremely outlandish/cartoon-like tone, it was probably Bart's darkest episode and one of the darker (and not to mention weirder) episodes of the show

I'm rating it probably 2 points higher than it deserves but i've always loved this one for some reason, i'd give it like a 9/10

oh and the "TESTIFY" song is probably my favorite musical number the show ever did, Bart's lines and the makeout creek shit are great in particular

I think this is quite an underrated episode. I mean it's not fantastic, but i think it's got several good laughs in the episode as well as a nice little musical number. Homer's a bit annoying but he's characterization in this episode is a lot more bearable then many Scully episodes. The complaints about the severed leg surprised me a little, as I found it funny and not at all disgusting. The show's done much worse in non-halloween episodes.

    I think it was alright - 3.5/5

Season 11 continues when Bart becomes a Faith Healer! After going to a Springfield U Alumni Banquet where the Dean has magically become someone else Homer gets a bucket stuck on his head. When Dr. Hibbert proves useless Homer drives the car into a ditch near Brother Faith's Revival. With Bart's help he manages to get the bucket off Homer and inspire the boy. Bart tries to heal Milhouse but gets him run over instead. At a football game Bart tries to heal the kicker and that fails too....but Springfield U still wins the game.

I mentioned in an earlier episode that the often lazy and crazy Season 11 plots work for me to extremely varying degrees and this is one I don't enjoy that much. The beginning act is like a worse version of Homer Goes to College, an episode I'm not too crazy about in its own right. The Brother Faith character is pleasant enough to watch and Bart's song near the end of act 2 is very good and easily the best part of the episode. Unfortunately we have drunk jerk-ass Homer salting over Flanders' lawn and running down the kicker in his salute to hazing. Fat Tony with the ice-pick is somewhat funny I guess but the kick ending is a letdown. The leg tearing off and re-kicking the ball is admittedly stupid but it isn't the worst thing in the episode. I did like Homer's hula Moe now that I think of it. So yeah, my thoughts are kinda all over the place with this episode huh?

I'd say this one is sub-par but not the low-point of the season as it has several things I do like. 2.5/5 or a 5/10 for this poll.

this episode is admittedly pretty forgettable, but there are numerous scenes that just really make me laugh. Aloha Moe, "Llib! oh wait... Bill", Homer driving with the bucket on his head, Homer salting Ned's lawn (sorry I just find this hilarious), Fat Tony and "couldn't you try a non-delicious fat? ohh... there's no such thing!" - all things that make me laugh.

But even though this episode has the college opening and these jokes which I like, it is sorta a mess. The Bart plot feels like a subordinate of the Homer college plot which continuously chugs along in the background, even though you get the impression the Bart plot is meant to be the main plot. Ultimately both sorta merge in to each other at various points in the episode, and I dunno, to me this makes this episode a bit... messy. Funny, but messy.

The ending as well is pretty stupid and surprisingly underwhelming considering the fact some guy's leg falls off. Fat Tony is rushed in quickly and this last minute conflict is over within a minute or two, feeling like a subordinate of the Bart plot, which in itself is a subordinate of the Homer/college plot. I dunno, this episode keeps my interest and there is some kind of logical progression, but the mess of a plot kinda stops this episode from being truly good even though it was funny.

So really it just evens out into an average-y mush. C, 5/10

Worse than Kill the Alligator and Run in terms of keeping one plot and running with it. I mean, think about it. It goes from - Homer at the college - Homer with a bucket on his head - Bart the faith healer - Milhouse getting injured - the football game - the guy getting injured - Fat Tony threatening Homer - the leg coming off and eventually winning the match. Ugh. Even worse, it's not really funny. 2/5 or D+.
