The first thing is: I hated my own review this week, but I felt the points had to be made. Let me know if you like next week's any more.Originally Posted by Sloppy Jimbo Xiu Xiu

I'm not far too negative. I'm far more fair than most fans more towards the "mainstream" are. I'm fed up with the show I love failing to improve itself, week after week.
I'm not looking for excuses to complain, I am merely pointing out things I noticed and made an impression on me. This works both ways. I have had reviews where an outstanding joke made up for minutes of atrocious material, and I've had reviews like this one.
Sea of adjectives - Granted. I write reviews in a slightly lazy style, and these things happen. I think my writing is nowhere near as bad as most "sea of adjectives" writing, and I'm using the words correctly (which is also rare), but I could probably use with some editing.
Excessive analogies - Great. Applies to this review and not many more. I don't usually make "excessive"ly long analogies, and I don't think I make "excessive" use of them. I'd link my reviews archive so you could delve into, but then I'd be hawking my site and that's a no-no . If you want more ammo for criticism, PM me.
Crackpot Insight - Meanie. Not sure how to respond to that.
I don't mind you assaulting my review, actually, it's rather nice. Someone's reading it. I post reviews here since I write them for my site anyways, and here's a big thread of them, so why not. I am certainly a whore for compliments, and I can't lie when I say that it means a lot to me to get a "great review, JB" or whatever, either here or among the more limited maggied group. I'm not posting to show off how cool I am, however, merely to try and add another review to the mix. It may be true that my reviews might get inordinate attention for being written in (what seems to me) a different style than most, but that isn't the motivation for posting them.
Anyways, to sum up: I don't find you irritating and I'd personally love to have you tear into my review each week... it's interesting. The major problem I have with your reasoning is that you think I am less conscious of my own weaknesses than I am. I'm very hard on my own work, so I'm not sneering at all others when I write, just throwing it in to the pack. Probably why I like compliments so much, and also why I don't find negative criticism to be particularly worse than my own self-inflicted negativity.
Edit: Just noticed
"The writers put forth a cavalcade of irrefutibility by juxtaposing this nature with the condescending charms of earlier Simpsons act 1's and by approximation did irrefutible damage to Moleman's character.
Grade: Z/Z-"
I've never slashed, to my knowledge, and not the fairest parody... but it's flattering to think I have a style that actually can be parodied
