I thought Homer's and especially Marge's characterizations were kind of transparent for an episode with emotion. Marge deciding to stick with her friend seemed out of character. A bit lacking in the humor department as well (except for the ballet and Homer kissing the landfill). Overall, pretty forgettable imo.

No No No You've got it all wrong!

Hilarious from start to finish, this has so many great lines and moments, and it works as an episode even if you have no knowledge of Thelma and Louise. It's great to see Marge with a real friend and Homer is a riot. The emotional angle, while in typical Mirkin style not the deepest, still works.

    Best dialogue:
'I hate it when the waffles stick together'
'Sticking together is what good waffles do.'

It's a pretty good episode with laughs and more great Lionel Hutz moments. This episode seems to be missing something, however. It feels rather thin and I never feel any grand satisfaction when it ends. 4/5

Homer getting stuck in the vending machine was one of the funniest sub-plots ever, and the episode on the whole was also excellent, with some of the best music selections in the show. Hutz was also hilarious. Probably the only underrated episode of its season.

I just rewatched it. I see what you guys are saying, but for me it's still not satisfying as a whole. The first act is hilarious, lots of moments that I forgot about, but the second act, though it has its moments, kind of drags. The third act picks up again, with lots of great Wiggum lines. Overall, dissatisfying but I'm not sure why. The highest I could grade this is B+

A- It's not deep enough for the emotion to be very effective, and it's not quite as hilarious as the best gag episodes of the series.

It would be an A-/A. but I stopped doing them since it's annoying to work with decimals.

This episode is my favorite of all time. In my opinion, some of the greatest episodes are not remembered. Sometimes the episodes not considered to be classics are the greatest. Once again, my favorite episode of all time. I would put a whole review, but instead you can read mine when I get my website up later this year. Hopefully, I won't become so lazy with it. GHaven't worked on it for over a month : (

Yet another top-class episode from Season 5. This is one of my favourite episodes, every minute of this episode is brilliant, and there are so many hilarious moments: Homer getting his arms trapped in the vending machines, Homer and Wiggum together on pursuit of the 'ghost car' and of course the brilliant Lionel Hutz.

Superb episode. A great story that explores Marge in a new way and is one of her best characterizations to date, and very funny without being crammed with overly-wacky or abundant jokes. Also contains some good moments from Lionel Hutz, classic Homer characterization, and a well-done marriage crisis that doesn't dominate the episode. One of the best of season 5, for sure. 5/5

4/5, say hello to Miguel Sanchez.
Kids, let me tell you about another so-called ``wicked'' guy. He had long hair and some wild ideas. He didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...
I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. Marge, you know what I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car?

-- Homer's parable of the guy in the blue car, ``Homer the Heretic''

Principal Skinner: No Ralph this means you're failing English
Ralph: Me fail English? That's unpossible.

It's a really good episode from season 5 for me.
I also like the story with Marge as one as the main characters pretty well.
Homer and Chief Wiggum on the chase is a great scene

I must concede that this is not one of my favorites. Granted, I've only seen Thelma and Louise once -and that was a long time ago and I can't remember whether I watched the whole thing or not -but I found the parody annoying and tedious. I also found the episode slightly rushed and the character development weak. I liked the sub-plot with Homer getting his hand stuck in the vending machine and it had some very good lines but all in all the episode just didn't work for me.
