R&R: New Kids on the Blecch

One of the best of the post-classic for me. Why does this episode get so much hate? It's funny, and the plot, while a tad unrealistic, is well done.

As I've said before, though, I hated the ending. *NSYNC talking to the viewers was beyond lame and completely unnecessary. But the ending is the only blemish I would put on this episode, garnering it a 4/5.

Good things: "That's right, Lieutenant L.T Smash", the fake-out gag with the gun pushing the button and flicking the switch, the songs (I actually thought they were pretty well done), "I actually feel better" after the blowing up of the MAD tower, Ralph's deep voice.

Bad things: The plot, especially in the third act, just becomes so silly it's hard to really care what's happening. It's also pretty boring and unfunny for the most part (ignoring the moments above). Also the ending was cringeworthy.

I liked some of the jokes (Ralph having the deepest singing voice), and always find myself humming 'Yvan eht nioj' (subliminal, eh). Other than that, though, there isn't a whole lot positive about this episode. The plot varied between so silly, it's (mildly) funny, and so silly it's just plain silly. I didn't enjoy NSYNC's parts much, it made me cringe a little.

It had a few funny bits, but I have always felt that this episode was written completely around NSYNC. It seems like from S10 or so onwards, whenever a really big guest star is gonna do a show it's like "okay, so NSYNC wanna do a show, somebody come up with some jokes to fill the gaps when they aren't on screen".

It's not like I found this episode to be a complete disappointment, I found some jokes to be very funny.

A very average episode with so little laughs and an unrealistic story. The structuring and the characterizations weren't so bad but overall quite a forgettable episode.

NSYNC were pretty poor guest stars too. 2/5

This is one of the more far-fetched episodes that I actually enjoyed. I didn't find it unbearable.

Pretty good guilty pleasure. I did like Lt. Smash, or whatever his name was, as a character, too. 3.5/5.

It's very silly and wacky, but I quite enjoy it. Some good jokes like "Next it'll be Ralph Wiggum", his deep voice and Otto's scene. The last act felt pretty lazy, though. 4/5

I know I'm in the minority here, but I really love this episode. I even feel slightly nostalgic while watching due to the boy band thing.
