    R&R Mom Pop Art

    Do you ever get it where you think you've nearly forgot what happens in a certain episode because you havn't seen this in ages. Then you watch it and then it all comes flooding back to you like it was the episode you just watched the other day?

    Anyway Today I was browsing threw some old taped video and found it!

    More to the point!

    Good episode. Homer's a bit of a jerk at times, and there are a lot of dodgey jokes. E.G the gay joke when Homer is drawing Lenny and Carl. Though it's quite good and mostly funny. The endings a bit whacky but at the same time good. B 4/5

    Thumbs Up

    Very underrated, I love it cause it sort of finishes series 2's Brush with Greatness, (apart from Homer loosing the pounds)

    It's all confused me to how number transfers to grades

    but isn't it like this

    A A+- 5/5
    A- B+ B 4/5
    How is B a 3/5?...it just doesn't work or does it....
    B- C+ C 3/5
    C- D+ D 2/5
    D- F 1/5

    A+ = 5/5
    A = 5/5
    High A- = 5/5
    Low A- = 4/5
    B+ = 4/5
    B = 4/5
    High B- = 4/5
    Low B- = 3/5

    and so on and so forth. that's my grading system.

    3.5/5

    Nothing particularly wrong with it, but nothing that is truly spectacular. A good, entertaining episode though. And I had to love the scene with Smithers and Burns rowing in the love swan together.

    It was a very average episode for me. The plot was okay, and the jokes weren't...bad, but the whole thing crammed together into 23 minutes of viewing time wasn't as pleasurable as the first nine seasons. It was a high point of Season 10, though, so on that note: C-3/5

    Has one of the best Homer moments when he tries to build the barbecue. What barbeque in Hell has a wheel shoved through the grill? And I love how he slaps two bricks together and shoves a stick on. Then running at it with an umbrella.

    An okay episode with its moments, though otherwise an average Season 10 episode. 3.5/5, rounded down to 3 for the poll.

    Very clever, incredibly underrated. Fantastic and constant references to pop art and art history/theory that were actually funny mixed with a relevant, thoughtful and satiric story. I love it. It's basically a romp in the art park with Homer being the perfect satiric foil. Ending might be a bit wacky but really, who gives a shit? It works doesn't it? Only problems are a few misfired gags and whatever but there's not too much to fault, from memory (it's been a while since I saw it).

    pretty funny at times

    Not fantastic, but even if it is a typical Scully episode in many ways, it does have a slightly classic era feel to it which is lacking in virtually every other one of his episodes. B

    My favorite episode of the season. Nice plot, normal characterisation, plenty of funny moments – the episode has everything a classic Simpsons episode should have. And although the ending could have brought another one of those continuity changes, I don’t care, it worked fantasticly and it was so funny.

    There are many great jokes in the first act: Homer annoying Flanders at the very beginning, the snake in the piano, and many funny lines by Homer such as ‘’Mmm, hippo’’ and ‘’Le grill? What the hell is that’’. The scene with him going mad at the barbecue is reminiscent of some Mirkin era moments.

    The episode gets even crazier when we get in the main plot. Homer’s attempt to get rid of the barbecue is great, as well as the appearance of Jasper Johns. Homer’s later works are also amazing.

    Some of my favorite jokes came from the museum, such as Homer’s dream, the soup picture, and the giant pencile. The ending was strange, as I already said, but it didn’t bother me at all, it was really beautiful. The closing scenes are very funny, with all the Springfildians enjoying Homer’s latest work. Simply brilliant.

    I think an A- nails it just right, good episode, nice Picassos in the background, this letter from Picasso (dear tv-guide) still makes me laugh.

    Not at all a bad episode, I see it as one of the better ones from S10. The scene where Homer tries to build the barbecue pit is most likely the best and funniest scene in the episode.

    4/5
