    AUSSIE RELEASE
Just found this on Ezy DVD's website - The cover art is not Homer's head though - it's green!

    More info here http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/781550

It does say that the cover art is subject to change though. Strange..

Released Wednesday 28 September, RRP is AU$ 59.95

Aren't you aussie Tim? I think us Aussies should all be proud that the rest of the box sets here will probably stick to the orginal design instead of Homers crappy head. Woo hoo!!

He is annoyed that it may change.

And of course green is way better than the head.

Because it's clearly a photoshop (or equivilant) job on the season three boxart.

I wouldn't get too excited guys. You'll get the Homer head too, trust me. Or at the very least, not that green thing.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

Plus it has the same couch gag and heads on the side. Which brings up an interesting point - if they actually made a real box set that was the same design as a past one, but with different colouring a obviously the name being changed to whatever season is was, so that it would look like the same style without actually having to create new art for it, would that be better or worse than the Homer's head? I'm not sure, honestly - while it would be good to have consistency I don't want multiple box sets with the same pictures.

Not that it would happen, but that image got me thinking.

Yeah that's clearly the Season 3 box photoshopped green. Face it, there's no escape from Homer's giant head

So long as it's got a different colour, that would be a good thing.

I fail to see anything that indicates what season this particular image is the artwork for. Would you care to direct me to this proof?

  15. #255

It's definitely a photoshop job of this, and a bad one at that.

Even the crappy mock cover that I did a while ago looks better than this.

Is there a set price for this yet?

  17. #257

Yes, the box sets are always $49.99 SRP, but you can buy them for $30-$40 in most stores.

I'd take the Homer head. I wouldn't want the same exact pictures on the cover and jacket with only a different color.

    UK Artwork...

This looks like it'll just be cardboard like S1-5, and not 3d plastic like the US one. We'll have to wait and see for some better pics

Nope, just looks like a bad-quality picture. At least the "12" certificate isn't as bad as it could be.

That's clearly drawn though, no matter how bad the picture is

  22. #262

You know, changing the last letter of the filename to x will usually give you a bigger image on that site.

And yeah, that does look much worse than the R1 box. They didn't even bother to add the hair.

  23. #263

If they would add the hair, boxset would be higher

That UK cover art is even worse than the US one. I think I'll chuck it away and store the DVD's in a plastic case when I get it!

  25. #265

I keep all my dvds in slim cases of cd-box dimensions. It's much more convenient than opening big boxset each time. By big box-set I mean for example The X-Files.

For those concerned that David Mirkin doesn't set aside enough time to talk about the celebrity voicies, you're in luck: a 53 second featurrette, titled "David Mirkin's (well, the site mispelled it as Murkin) thoughts on Anne Bancroft", was just passed.

Oh right - I didn't know that thanks.

I like the bigger image - personally I think it looks a lot better than the R1 release. Just under 2 months to go here!

Well, here's a list of some features on the DVD. They only say which people will be on the commentary for three episodes. Strange that there was never a real press release with a list of features and all the commentaries like there was for season 5.

The good news is that Mike Scully will be on Lisa's Rival.
