Something's rotten in the DVD marketing department. Could they be someone giving these people the wrong information on purpose?
Just import the US version and play it on a universal player.

I'm not sure exactly, but I believe it won't house a normal case like seasons 1-5, inside it.Originally Posted by Archduke_Chocula

So I'm sticking with playusa.

Just rechecked, Empire says that it's the 5th, the font was hard to read.
Is there a list of whos doing the commentary for this set?
Do we finally get to hear Mike Scully voice his opinion against the Simpsons fans? (And I very much doubt Matt and the rest of the Simpson staff hate him, and I'm sure they think some of his decisions are good as well.)

The inside design looks really good.
Where did you get the picture from?
That looks awesome! The booklet looks great, the discs look great (considering they'll be following the same theme), and most importantly there is a label on the side. I take back everything I said about this box.
Ughh the crayon in the brain.
And I still don't like the fact that it curves up and I'd still be much happier with the old design.
I Think other countries get DVD B4 Release sometimes a Freind of mine from Denmark got THE MUPPET SHOW SEASON DVD monday Aug 1st when it was to be released on Tue Aug 8th

i Love the design it is something diffrent?
The insides actually look really nice and colourful. It looks like a childrens play set but in a good way.
A bit puzzled why the cover of the first disc has Smither's shadow looking murderous - are all the discs going to be themed around Who Shot Mr Burns do you think?
Also this is going to sound really petty, but say you want Disc 4, you have to remove all the other discs, take 4 out, and then put the other 3 back. I know it's not much but it'll get a little tedious I'm sure
Edit - I'm an idiot, the whole damn thing is themed around Who Shot Mr Burns

What did I tell you when the cover art was first revealed? Wonderfully designed packaging inside. Beautifully done.
Yeah, some stores don't follow official release date rules and sell items as soon as they get them. Usually mostly in other countries, because the US has penalties for such things (although if it's a very popular and anticipated item, some US stores will do it anyway). Also, members of the press, critics, reviewers, etc. get DVDs a few weeks in advance, for free.Originally Posted by Muppets Go Midevil
Btw, Robertuybrush, if that's your box set, can you pictures of the front of the box too, in case it's changed since the artwork was release by Fox? (because they frequently do)
oh wow, that looks awesome.
i always liked the new box design but that just seals it. innovation rules.

All the people who were angry and making stupid empty threats like "I'm not goin to buy another Simpsons box set again because of this" must feel really, really stupid now.
I still prefer the digipack, but I never threatend not buy it.

I have to agree that the inside of that boxset looks fantastic, but I would still prefer the old sets, because the cover just looks so plastic and childish. It's interesting that they've themed the inside design around just one S6 episode, too. It pushes the rest of the season into the background. I would have preferred more of the season to be included, like in S5. If they continue like this, I wonder which episode S7's design will be based on?
Amazon has put up their review if anyone's interested: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...29609?v=glance

the inside looks great the only thing i dont like is you have to take out everyone just to get one disc
Why Did the Amazon.com Review have to trash the Critic and mention Family Guy Feud
that was a terrible review hell the 2nd review from dec 24th, 2004 was better and he never saw the Season 6 DVD yet
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...22201?v=glance

they shouldve just stuck to revewing season 6 and not going through to the feud with family guy
A friend sent it to me. He foud it on some forum and said it was an image hosted by imageshack, so I don't know where it's originally from. It should be from a review I suppose...Originally Posted by Homer Jay
By the way, I liked it before, but now I like it a lot. Good to see there will be a label on the side. And I'm sure the cover will look a lot less... "grotesque" in our hands.

While I still don't like the change, or the tacky outside cover, I have to admit the inside looks nice. I hoped they would compensate for it somewhat with a good inside design, and I really like the disc art for the one disc shown there at least. Hopefully they still have the usual Groening "letter" in there in some form.
I'll try to find where the picture came from if I can. There's also a guy at Home Theater Forum who has the set (though I don't know if that's his picture or now) so I might ask him about it. He did say that the package came off as kind of flimsy and wondered if the plastic might crack.
As I was typing that, I saw that tvshowsondvd has more elaborate shots:

Really do like the disc art, I gotta say.
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?
Those are great pictures, but what is that smaller black boxset in the bottom picture that says complete sixth season?
