A lovely little episode, although I will admit I find the scene in which he keeps telling Lisa to move over on the sofa makes quite uncomfortable viewing for me, it's very mean spirited.
    Nevertheless A

Such an undermentioned and underrated gem. I know Lisa's Pony is a little better, but still. The whole thing is just so sweet and funny, and pulls off what could have been a cheesy plot device (depending on who wins the game, Lisa does or doesn't still love Homer) expertly. A+
Two eyes, two ears, a chin, a mouth, ten fingers, two nipples, a butt, two kneecaps, a penis. I've just described to you the Loch Ness Monster. And the reward for its capture? All the riches in Scotland. So I have one question: why are you here?

An okay Superbowl episode. I would probably feel better about this episode if the Superbowl of 1992 was a little different...

A good episode, but not the masterpiece some claim it to be. It's very moving, but it doesn't have enough good gags to lift above being just a 'nice' episode.

...and 1993, and 1994... (Fox redubbed the episode in 3 different formats, and each time the losers were the Buffalo Bills)

The ending was very predictable, and I didn't laugh much in act 3, but it was a strong episode in the first two acts. My grade: 4/5 - not a classic, but definitely worth mentioning.
Bart: "Please don't call our parents!"
Chief: "I'm afraid I have to for hijinks like these. Hijinks - it's a funny word. Three dotted letters in a row."
    Eddie: "Is it hyphenated?"
Chief: "It used to be, back in the good old days, you know. Of course, every generation hyphenates the way it wants to. Then there's *NSYNC! What the hell is that? Jump in any time there, Eddie, these are good topics."

Very good episode, a little heavier on the emotional side, but still great

On of the few episodes in which I have laughed out loud three times. Honestly, during most Mirkin gag fests, I'll just recognize the joke, but never laugh. This episode gave me three rare laugh out loud moments. Thus, I find it to be one of the funniest episodes of the season. Not only that, but the emotion was very nice. It wasn't as impacting as most Lisa/Homer episodes, but it worked surprisingly well. And I love the ending. Overall, one of my favorites. A+ 5/5

1: When the people in Wee Monsieur were laughing at Bart and you can hear one man, amid all the laughing, saying 'Look at that stupid kid!'

2: When Homer walks into Moe's and, after Moe gives him the money, Homer says, 'Moe, I used to hate the stench of your smelly feet. Now, it is the stench of victory!' (or something like that), and Moe, under his breath, says, 'oh, shut up'.

3: When Reverend Lovejoy says to his small congregation, 'I'm glad some of you were able to resist the temptation of the big game' (again, probably not exact), and suddenly one of the people stands up and says, 'Oh my god, I forgot the game!'

I guess that I just have a liking for quick unexpected dialogue.

    5/5, just a great episode.
Kids, let me tell you about another so-called ``wicked'' guy. He had long hair and some wild ideas. He didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...
I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. Marge, you know what I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car?

-- Homer's parable of the guy in the blue car, ``Homer the Heretic''

    Ralph: I Won! I Won!
Principal Skinner: No Ralph this means you're failing English
Ralph: Me fail English? That's unpossible.

one of the best Homer/ Lisa episodes.
The plot is good and convincing too. Maybe sometimes not so funny,
but entertaining through the story. Also the end is nice.

Well, that's the best excuse you can have. Sorry, I didn't mean that.
