5/5, absolutely brilliant, and a true classic.

    A. It's good, but it's a little bit overrated...

Absolutely perfect guest stars. They were incredibly good actors for being baseball players. 5/5

One of the great "all star guest cast" episode, loved how all the 9 players did a great performance, plus it was a very funny episode, and I absolutely love Burns' first starting line up with all the dead players

    It's crazy.

"Homer at the bat" is my favorite season 3 episode, probably tied with "Flaming Moe's". It's an awesome Swartzwelder's classic, every single scene is funny. The song made it even better. 5/5

Homer At The Bat is an classic season 3 episode, it may not have as much gags as many later episodes, but it has a great feeling to it and the ending song is great. 5/5

Definitely one of my favorite episodes. Expertly-written, character-driven, outrageous but not over-the top, featuring a perfect balance of different types of gags and captivating characterizations...simply brilliant. 5/5

No offence but you have really odd opinions. I guess that's a good thing, haha

Anyway, I love this episode. So many great moments. It used to be a favourite of mine back in the day. 5/5

i really like this episode and i'm not even a baseball fan or something. It's a great story and also pretty funny. 4/5

Even though I already left a review for this one before, I just rewatched it and realized even more how absolutely brilliant it is. It had me laughing on almost every single part, which is a definite rarity. The plot flowed beautifully, it featured a lot of character-defining moments, the guest stars were for once warranted and complementary characters, the characterizations of every character were spot-on, the characters were used in a good balance with each other, and I can't think of even one joke that missed its mark. I'm not even a sports fan, but this episode is probably in my top ten. It's simply flawless. 5/5

    Some of the funniest parts:

-The sequence of Smithers finding all the baseball players.
-Seeing the baseball players working at the plant and around town.
-SMITHERS: What are you going to do with the million dollars, sir?
BURNS: Oh, I dunno. Throw it on the pile, I suppose.
    -The baseball players' fates.
    -Darryl Strawberry's single tear.
    -Many, many others.

5/5, great episode. Easily top 10 all-time for me.
Kids, let me tell you about another so-called ``wicked'' guy. He had long hair and some wild ideas. He didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was...
I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. Marge, you know what I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car?

I wonder if there is any show out there that could put together almost all the top players in a sport in an episode like this ever again.

    anyway

    A+

My favorite part was Mr. Burns team he put together. Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown. Good stuff, I worte a report on him in 5th grade.

Bart: Lis, I don't get it...Why does Milhouse's happiness make me sad?
Lisa: Bart, you're worried you're losing Milhouse, and love is a selfish thing!
Bart: Shut up! I don't love Milhouse!
Lisa: Oh, really? The more you deny it, the more I know it's true!
Bart: Oh, yeah? Well, whenever you're mean, I'm a trampoline. So everything you said goes back and hits your ugly head.
Lisa: God, that was lame. Where did you get that?
Bart: From Milhouse! Oh, I love him so much!

The best thing about this episode is the ending. I love that softball song.(I actually considered Ken Griffey's Grotesquely Swollen Jaw as a username here. Might still change it...) Its a funny, feel good episode that features one of the better uses of a large group of guest voices. My favorite was Strawberry. 4.25/5

*edit* Here's a new article about the 16th aniversary of the episode (which beat out The Cosby Show in ratings for the first time) and the careers of the MLB players since then.

Baseball, being extremely American, is so perfect for the Simpsons that it fairly sets them alight. Baseball + Simpsons = greatness.

An all-time classic. Pure brilliance from start to finish, one of the funniest episodes ever. Mr. Burns was at peak hilarity throughout, as well as Smithers. Also, it was great to see Homer find something that he actually CAN do, and the guest stars, (with the exception of Jose Canseco), were done very, very well, allowing themselves to be made fun of and doing a surprisingly good voice performance. Mr. Burns's signal dance is definitely among the top ten funniest gags in the show's history, (I laughed so hard I went hoarse!) and the song over the credits was pure gold. Definitely one of my favorite episodes ever. 5/5

I knew none of the guest stars, but the power plant putting a softball team together was great. The creation of homer's bat was hilarious, and the song at the end of a great way to cap it all off.
