I haven't actually seen it in a store, but I haven't looked. I work at Bongo, and know that the in-store date was the beginning of November. We received our in-house copies, and there was a review of it on silverbulletcomics.com. I did see it listed on milehighcomics.com and comicsunlimited.com. We've got a call in to our printer to see if there was some shipping problem, but initially it doesn't appear that there was. What other places besides Forbidden Planet did you check? (I'm not that familiar with many other online stores).

Hmm, I bought Bart Simpson #26 from midtowncomics.com about a month ago.

The only other UK based site I know of that stock Simpson comics is www.comics24-7.co.uk, and they don't seem to have it either. Its been a while since I've managed to get to a comic shop seeing as the closest one is a long drive away, so I'm not certain if any of them stock the issue.

The whole story is, awhile ago I made an order with forbidden planet for Bart Simpson 26 as well as the other latest Simpson comics. After a couple of months they contacted me and told me they haven’t managed to get any in and they think there is a printing problem, so I cancelled that comic so they would send me the rest.

Sorry, I didn't realize you worked for Bongo, I'm goanna assume you know more about what is going on then the customer support people at forbidden planet.co.uk

I suppose it could be a shipping problem with whoever sends the stock overseas. At any rate; any information on that matter would be appreciated, so I can re order it when it’s available over here.

That's a puzzler. I'm not really sure how the sending of US versions of our comics overseas is handled. I'll see if anyone in the office here knows, or if it's something that's handled by our printer or distributor, (in which case, as far as we're concerned, it's just magically taken care of and we don't have to worry about it).

Wait! I was just given an update, (and since I don't believe in editing myself, I'll leave that previous paragraph alone). Apparently, we used to sell direct to a distributor called Red Root, who supplied shops overseas. Late this past summer, they stopped carrying our books. Maybe this is the problem. Now, this was the only distributor that we sold directly to. There may be others that we just don't deal directly with.

So to sum up, I don't really know. But the book is out there. I'd suggest screaming and yelling until someone sends you one.

It's cool, Gibbles. And you'd be the first person to assume that I knew more about anything than anybody! (I do wonder where Forbidden Planet came up with "printing problem", though.)

That cover art is so boring.

Hi new here. Live in the UK and only read the reprints (if that's the word, the ones with 4 or so comics in).

Does anyone know when the next one will be out, and indeed if there's a specific forum/post for people who've only read these?

    Cheers

New Bart Simpson comic is released on Wednesday - it's about the tree rotting and trying to save the treehouse. Also, it's Maggie's turn to be mayor!

No! I think SimpsonsChannel.com made a mistake. Those stories are from Bart Simpson #26...

  11. #191

Bart Simpson #27 contains "Hot Air Buffoon," "The Case of the Sax Solo Saboteur," and "No Purchase Necessary," and it came out last Wednesday. (I know this because I bought and read it already).

unfortunately my not being in north america prevents me from double checking the information i post on comics since we're a few months behind, so if my sources are wrong then so am i. the internet sources were also incorrect on Simpsons Comics #113 two weeks ago, with american sources displaying the uk description which was actually US #111. i'm sure its the same situation here.

if you know where i can find the correct press release and cover info please let me know.

  13. #193

Well, Diamond Comics, which is Bongo's distributor (or one of their distributors), posts their shipping list online every week. It's updated every Monday and you can see which comics are coming out the following week.

i was under the impression that simpsons super spectacular #2 was supposed to be out by the end of 2005 too.

  15. #195

Here you go, Adam. This is the synopsis from the back of Simpsons Comics #113:

    Bart Simpson #27

It's high-flying hilarity when Bart, Lisa, and Milhouse zip around Springfield in eighty minutes inside a hot air balloon! Then, an anxious Lisa believes that someone is out to sabotage her big sax solo at the Springfield Elementary concert. And get ready for another Maggie & Moe mystery, when a trip to the Springfield Museum leads to the theft of the museum's biggest cubic zirconia.

(Oddly, the last sentence is incorrect, as the third story is actually about Bart trying to win a Monopoly-style game at a new Krusty Burger location).

It probably was supposed to be - it was advertised to be in Simpsons comics anyway. Bongo often do this, and then they are delayed with Futurama Comics being the prime culprit of being advertised to ship one month, then being released in a completly different one

    Recommendations?

I'm a huge comic book nut, but have only read a few random Simpsons and Futurama comics. What titles/ trade paperbacks would you recommend?

Anyone else think the orphange employe from the latest issue and comic book guy is twin brothers?
Also I have the feeling the comic writers are huge Batman fans. (Bart's friend at the orphange is obiouslly a parody of Bruce Wayne and a picture of the Joker can be seen in the comic shop)

God, another great sounding comic (IMO) comes out in America, and what have we English got to look forward to? "Homer becomes an escape artist"!

Shit, we're getting season 17-style quality comics here. The only thing missing is the Cat Lady (though that's not necessarily a bad thing... ).

Thanks to CousinMerl for this great sig!

I would really like to get a copy of the issue that has The Homer Show in it. It seems like it could be very interesting.

This is getting annoying, both my Internet suppliers have become total useless and are not stocking back issues, so I screwed myself by waiting for Bart Simpson 26 to show up and have missed out on getting 27 and Simpson's 113. Also my closest comic book shop didn't have any new issues at all when I went over there last.

  24. #204

You can pre-order #116 of Simpsons Comics from Things From Another World. That issue'll not be avalible to buy in stores until March 2006.

Is the newest issue #114? And if so, how long ago did it come out?

    I've only seen #113, that's why I'm asking.

I don't know the issue numbers, but the synopsis is below:

"Marge becomes a no-nonsense judge; Bart manages to get the house repossessed in a seed-selling scam; Homer takes the family on a cruise of titanic proportions; Mr Burns takes a keen - well, financial - interest in Springfield’s church... and the whole family take a revolutionary trip to the jungles of Central America!"
