Wow, sorry for the triple post, but I doubt anyone reads this unless there is a new post.

Anyway, I am absolutely appalled with the new issue of Bart Simpson in Australia. The first 19 issues were all around 64 pages long, and included bonus random Radioactive Man stories from all the issues as well as the 80 page colossal, anyway, I had been wondering for a while with how they would get to 64 pages still without any RM stories (as they have now run out of them). I'd have much rathered them to just go down to 32 pages and only having JUST the Bart Simpson issue, instead of what they did now. The entire issue #21 takes up the first 34 pages, then on page 35 it has the cover for #21, and then the remaining pages is all of issue #21, so it's basically two issues in one. Sure, we basically get two issues for the price of one, but it's going to be confusing going through the issues looking for a certain one, as the actual front cover only says #20 (the cover half way through the issue says #21), so next issue will say #22 on the cover, then after that it will be #24, so, like I said, if I were looking for #21, #23, etc, the entire idea of combining issues isn't very innovative.

Stupid? Maybe if you're nagging for no reason. I made a few complaints and stated my reasons why I disliked them. There's nothing stupid with that. Some people will complain and disagree with other users. This is a discussion forum, we are supposed to exchange diffrent comments and opinions. I think the ones made before they let other artists do it were much better. Stuff like "Litle Shop Of Homers", "Bart People" or "Sideshow Blob" are some of the best stories from the THOH comics and few of the later issues have been able to give us art or stories better than those. How do you think people would've reacted if DC let Matt Groening draw a Batman issue? Simpsons fans would probably have loved it, but hardcore Batman fans would've hated it.

I half agree with what you are saying about how nice the art was in the early issues. The last issue that I thought had pretty nice art was #10 (especially the Batterface story, because that was done by Bongo's own Bill Morrison).

Hey Ivan, glad we could sort things out amicably.
Good luck with your new site.

#119 is out now in the US. Even though I got the US edition I still picked this up, so I could use the freebie from one copy, but also have an issue with the freebie intact (went with cutting out the one from the US edition, because the Aus one has actually been set out a lot nicer [stapled around the outside of the issue] and instead of being a white piece of card it instead has a nice yellow background behind it)

Ivan, you need to change the title above your (?) picture of Simpsons Classics #10 - at the moment it reads "Simpsons Comics #123".

Also Simpsons Classics #10 doesn't fully collect Simpsons Comics 18-19 as it skips out on the Roswell story from #19 and in its place is a story from the Radioactive Man Special - Radioactive Man Teen Idol.

And don't forget comics fans, http://www.planetbongocomics.com (where Ivan likes to get a lot of his images) is currently looking for reviewers so head on over there and use the contacts link for more info or wait a few days and I'll be posting a step by step guide to submitting reviews.

Oops, my bad, i'll change it to say #10. I'll send you some reviews soon, too.

I think it's a shame they aren't going to put the Roswell story in the Classics...unless there's going to be an issue where they have one Simpsons issue and then the entire Roswell story or something. Guess I'll have to find a copy of the TPB

Oh, and just realized the (?) added in after 'your image'. See what I said in the bottom of my above post.

Does this mean those emails I sent are finally getting somewhere? Or is it just pure coincidence? (I'm betting it's the latter )

We never got such a cool picture in the UK (our Simpsons comics writers are obsessed with CBG). Do you know where I can get a bigger image?

Thanks to CousinMerl for this great sig!

They also appear in that comic too (can't recall if they actually talk, but I remember seeing Rev. Lovejoy towards the end of it). Then again, the stories in that issue were made quite a while before Bongo became obsessed with CBG...

    EDIT:

    Tom, is #123 any good?

Yeah, I know. In fact, I can point out exactly when they became obsessed with CBG... (the 'merchants of vengeance' issue, in case anyone cares)

Hahaha, I read that issue last night. I found CBG to be very annoying in that one "...please just drive the RV" (*shudder*). My least favourite thing they have done with CBG so far was US #105 where it was the Dr. Nick issue where CBG got amnesia.

I know what you mean. Seriously, though, after that issue, CBG became much more prominant, originally he only appeared every few issues, but since that issue... well, it's like once per issue, with very few exceptions.

I got Bart #23, Futurama #27 and Simpsons #123 when I was in the city. There was an interesting thing in Simpsons #123 that seems like "too much of a coincidence to be true"; Bart and Lisa are arguing over comic book trivia, to which CBG suddenly appears and answers their question, before adding something along the lines of "wherever senseless comic book trivia is needed, I will be there". I immediately thought of Reverend Lovejoy and his utter distaste of the overuse of that particular character.

    Nice to be remembered.
Seriously, though, they're still doing that? Hopefully, they'll have nothing to do with the movie, or three guesses who's going to get a main role?

    Oh dear god...

    http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.co...6402922851.htm

    Review for Simpsons Comics #103:

Let's see how do I phrase this. I've already said that Ian Boothby is a comic genius, but in this issue of Simpsons Comics, he surpasses that genius. I'd call him a super comic genius, but I dare say Wile E. Coyote would sue.

Not only does Boothby provide laughs in this issue of Simpsons Comics he concocts a fairplay mystery that with a little reworking would make a fine drama. Boothby though expertly centers this mystery in the world of The Simpsons.

Everything about the story speaks in the language of Matt Groening. The conformity evolves hints to what really occurs and also an argument against such a thing. The cynicism of sheep-like society not only provides clues and conflict but also speaks out against the ostracism of individuals.

Lest you think that this story is a deep exploration in man's inhumanity to man, I'd like to direct you into one particular joke that while given running commentary on the show has never been employed for such laugh out loud hilarity before. I give you Boothby at his mad, mad, simply mad best.

Also beyond up to snuff we find artists Phil Oritz, DeCarlo and Villanueva interpreting the massive cast of the Simpsons in a variety of ways and in different filters of uniform. The artist's timing gives each scene whatever it needs: suspense, comedy, a complexity of emotion and a heightening of paranoid atmosphere.

In closing, this is easily the best issue of Simpsons Comics ever published. Brilliant, gentlemen. Simply, brilliant.
How could they say it is easily the best issue published? I could barely read it the first time round, the plot is that unfocused and distorted, with lame visual jokes. Only on reading it A LOT more did it improve, even though I, and I'm sure others, feel uncomfortable with everyone in Springfield running around with Sideshow Bob's haircut.

That was the one where everyone started looking like the Simpsons, right? I would say #123 is a lot creepier than that...
