Heh, kinda off-the-wall, but clever. Lots of funny moments, better than the first episode tonight. And a good way to end the season (especially with that Bart-Crusades joke at the end).

Overall, S16 > S15... hopefully the momentum continues into the fall.

4.5/5 But the ending of Bart vs Bartman bumps it up to an even 5/5

Boring. I had high hopes for this episode and it didn't live up to them. No funny jokes and I really don't see what was so offensive about this episode. D+

The better of the two that aired tonight. A really good episode, but some of the religious satire fell flat. Marge was too unlikable here, her characterization wasn’t nearly as good here as in Homer the Heretic. I don’t want to go into a detailed review other than that I found it funny that Father Sean is the typical young 60s radical priest. The ending was the best part of this one.

4.75/5 rounded up to 5. This episode is the best episode of the last 6 seasons the jokes about the catholic church were funny but classy such as the bible comic book and Homer's confessions. The only thing I didn't like was the nun I just found her annoying. But best of all Liam Neeson did a great job as Father Sean plus the ending was well done not made at the last second.

Really, really good. I thought it was a worth season finale. I loved the music, the religious jokes, the rats popping into Milhouse and Bart's mouths, and a lot of other really funny gags. Much better than the one before it.

All the jokes were there, and were perfect. Overall I thought it was a more than enjoyable episode. But it goes down a full letter grade because of Homer's masturbation remark. I didn't need that image in my head. I may be over reacting but that was too much for me. Anyways, this was to great way to put season 16 to rest.

Edit: Nice guitar solo by Otto eh?

Really good story and a lot of jokes about "The Establishment" weather it was George Bush who though not mentioned by name was certainly the but of the joke, and of course the Catholic Church. Liam Neison was a good guest and I wonder if anyone knows if they did indeed change any lines b/c of the pre-emption. It seamed intact to me and not that offensive and had a overall good moral to it, b/f the tacked on ending in the style of Burns in the future with Smithers the dog. I was going to give this a 4 but bumped it up to a 5 b/c it was a good season in general. Cant wait till November for the 16th Halloween opener.

Eh, a few missteps (Homer's masturbating comments), but a lot of funny (a Yard IS 36 inches!) and the goofy Catholic Heaven, made it pretty good.

    3/5.

Well, ya'know if you stay positive and forget about trivial things like "proper characterization," "Satire," and "emotional depth" watching new Simpsons episodes can be a seemingly enjoyable lie.

The second act was fantastic, the other two good. Neeson was excellent. Loved Marge's "It's like Simon Says, only nobody wins!" line, "I lusted after the wife in Jaws II," the Ministry Machine, Pious Riot, and Catholic vs. Protestant heaven. 5/5.

It had a 5/5 with the joke about Bush.

Ehh... seemed like a rehash of the premise of "She of Little Faith", and also an excuse to throw tons of "take that Catholoc Church!!1" jokes at us.

    Not terrible though... 3/5

Good religious ep. Thought the masturbation joke was a little much, but definately enjoed Bush getting zinged by being called "Commander Ku-Ku Bananas." Finally this President has been zinged, but not in name though, however, most people say Bush looks like a monkey, especially when he does his laugh.

The ending 1,000 years from now was a good way to end the season.... now to wait til November.

I really enjoyed this episode. I especially liked Bart telling Marge she had no authority and the George Bush crazy bananas and such. It was pretty solid and had great pacing. I also loved the Bartman crusades at the end.

    4.5/5 Not perfect.

4/5 surprisingly offence to the Catholic religion, wow. And the comment about Bush, The Simpons pushed it this episode, and I liked it.

For the third consecutive week, the second episode outranked the first. And the wait for this episode was totally worth it.

Having been to Catholic school myself, I can say that although Catholics DO take their religion very seriously, they don't FORCE people to convert to their faith.
One part I thought was really funny was when Homer confessed all of his sins to the priest, capped off by his masurbation problem.

As for the ending, does this mean that Bart is now going to be a Catholic, like Lisa is still a Buddhist?

5/5, Bart's little one liner changing everyone's minds instantly was odd and they tried to cram in too many jokes (the masturbation joke was really out of place), but other than that I totally loved it. The Heaven scene was awesome, I loved the Homer and Bart as catholics montage and The Bart vs. bart war at the very end was especially awesome. A

This one beat out "She of Little Faith" in terms of the "family changing religion" topic, and the religious satire. This episode had a lot of the same-feeling freshness and excitement, combined with character-driven and satirical humor of older episodes. The ending's quick wrap-up (although Bart not going back to school again of course) was a bit fast for me, but overall this was a quality ep.
